Idea against Undercutting at the Marketboard (The next.. )

Hello fellow Eorzeans,

after having another raging episode on my end after seeing the Marketboards this morning I ask myself why people would undercut massively.

If I list up an Item; I match the current price best price and just wait and see.
I dont need to undercut my competetors because I know that this would ruin the marketprice.

Last Sunday, Ehcatl Sealant was listet dof ~329.000Gil; Right now its at 298.000 because ppl keep underbidding themself. So before I start a tl:dr;

Can't we just invent a system that will stop undercutting to a minimum price
that will adjust itself daily/weekly and is beeing calculated through
recent sales in GIl, Quantity and influenced by the Number of demands and suppliers?

So, you want impose your will on everyone and have people only be able to sell at the price you feel comfortable with?

I would say that, except I've seen stuff go from 16K down to 3k, due to undercutters. And I'm talking huge undercutting over time. Looking at the many amounts in there, you'll see good undercutting practices, such as 1-500 gil, then suddenly a dramatic undercut as things drop by 2-4k. And then it takes the prices weeks to go back up. I don't know about you, but I don't like it when I have to wait weeks for something to sell that should have sold within a day just due to insane undercutting by idiotic people who apparently wish to LOSE money than gain it.

It amazes me that you are openly stating that you want the developer to implement a system to protect your GREED.

To think otherwise is absurd.

I don't mind undercutting for easily obtained stuff, but the rare stuff shouldn't be getting undercutted so hard. Unless of course you're saying you're okay with the enhanced primal weapons being around 100K each.

If they did want to do something about free re-listings, they could introduce a graduating re-listing fee. ie 1st time = free / 2nd time = 100 gil / 3rd time = 1,000 gil etcetera.

Don't please don't. There's already too much tax. I don't want more taxes. Do you work for IRS?

Everything you are saying makes perfect sense except for the fact that RMTers pay moronic prices for items and SE doesn't actually do anything about them.

Well if somebody can get it cheaper then it's not as rare as you thought.
I have no problem with primal hq weapons being around 100k each, I'd buy it and sell it for 1mil.
