No More Classes?

You do not become a warrior until you complete the quest Pride and Duty. Additionally, you must level a Gladiator to level 15 to unlock this quest.
They are rare but I have seen a level 50 Marauder.

So what happens if you happen to be a Lv 28 MRD then pass lv 30? Do you just become a War? Would you be able to stay a Lv 33 MRD?

Well, if the class system is falling apart as it seems, I think you will start with a warrior at lv 1, and you will only get good skills (the job ones) doing the quests at lvs 15, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 and so on... Who is already a lv50 Warrior will remain as it is.

Well, in this system, if you're a DPS with a healer class, you will not be as good as a full DPS and you will not heal like a healer. If you're MND specd, your dps lowers, if you're STR, INT, DEX specd, you won't be so good at healing (maybe people complained on version 1.0, but there's a larger base of players now).

Would MND really matter if a party of 8 stacked 8 Medica II? Or even just 2 or 3 stacks? This same logic could be applied to Medica and Cure III. Throw a Bard or two and some Shroud of Saints into the party and you have an Self-Healing Machine.

Of course not, you'd only have to live with the name Warrior, but it should have all the MRD skills AND the WAR skills you already have (it's up to you use it or not) and you could cross class everything the same you already do. The bright side is tha WARs would be able to cross class everything you already can with you MRD. Yay!

I played Archer in game Coil 1 and 2 via DF (I know pissed a lot of peolpe off) at item lv 114 I saw very little stat drop off...maybe 1%. With the added skills I could carry Rasie and quick cast,virus and others it came in handy in many battles with two Whms without virus. I havn't tried Coil 3 yet, I doubt anyones going to let me play Archer outside of PF. Archer seems to be a very good class to mix and match on for skills with its built in high mana.

then you're about close to useless to your party and have nothing to do in end game.

Sorry to say it, but the game has been designed in a way that renders classes useless when the jobs come. In most cases, they're just a hindrance.

Gladiator ? Useless and can't tank
Marauder ? maybe the only useful one if you don't need 2 tanks, that's more dps than a WAR. Though you could just bring a real dps.
archer ? bard does everything the archer does PLUS the songs. Archer is by fact useless. You could argue that you can cast virus or stoneskin but if you have to then there is something wrong in the group
lancer ? the buffs from archer as cross class doesn't make up for the loss of the jumps
pugilist ? you're losing too much from monk.
thaumaturge ? making no sense at all as you're losing a lot of dps and utility, as well as survivability
arcanist ? once again losing too much to be worth anything
conjurer ? same
rogue ? same

People playing classes after lv30 (apart marauder in PVP) are just a hindrance for their group.

That said, yes you CAN do end game to an extent with classes. But apart from dps classes you're an hindrance, and even for dps you're underperforming thus you're useless


(not taking in account people who can't do anything and ruin runs just by the fact that they're unable to handle the mecanics, of course)

Geez, It didnt stop me from clearing all the 2nd coil. Also, its my choice to play a class and not a job and theres nothing anyone can do about it in my PF. Songs are useless if no one needs them, with everyone being over gear for contant now having songs wasnt important to my group. The main point is it CAN be done. I wouldnt do it with any hard core people because most of them cant think out side the box but in a pre-made party it works. It was a experiment and it worked for us. Sorry if you dont like it. ps: I suffered very little DPS lose to the point it didnt matter. 1% dps didnt kill our chances of winning any battles.

as I said, I didn't implied you can't. Just that it's pointless and useless, while removing a lot of utility in most cases, and even removing every single bit of utility you may have in the worst case (being gladiator). and btw, archer is the only one not being THAT hindered by removing the job crystal (apart from the stat loss) in their dps if you aren't going to sing anyway. Try doing that as a lancer or a monk and tell me how your dps wasn't affected at all
