    The only game that I know of with a Controller role is DCUO, and while supposedly being crowd control specialists, they were turned into group MP generators.

    We already have crowd control abilities scattered throughout all the classes, so there is little point in making that a focus. SE has already talked about adding a Support role instead.

    Oh is that why there's extra dps slots in everything. 2 for Raids and 1 more for 4 man dungeon.
