we semi-tried this after we found out you could dmg them...then realized there was no way we would have time to kill one of them, let alone all of them.

the only other thing i can think of and will be trying tomorrow is clearing any room...so each run we clear a different extra room.

Just a thought, probably nothing though but:

Like the other chests in the dungeon, do Batraal's chests each have a specific piece of gear they have a chance to drop? If so, is there any piece of gear that hasn't been found in any of the chests yet? If they each have a specific piece and no gear is missing that would point to the fact that there indeed actually isn't a 5th chest and the placement is just a massive dev troll. If not then disregard it and keep guessing lol.

Don't know if anyone has suggested this yet, but on the r25 dungeon we got 5 chests from the boss when we beat the boss with over 30 mins left on the clock. I know its a steep order on the r45 but it may be the same there.

oh ok, i was under the impression that the best time was still 20 mins left after Batraal was taken down.

Nah, some JP shell went in with nothing but mages and a tank and AoEed everything to oblivion.
