Cause you are the only DPS in the game with high DEF, regular melee MDEF, also higher HP than any other DPS. Dragoons got enough.Just pointing out what I believe to be an oversight. It just happens to be after the job was adjusted, but I could have made the same topic a year ago. It has nothing to do with effectiveness in battle. If no reduced fall damage, then it would be nice to know why the dev team decided to omit such a trait.
I don't think he's really looking for a buff, just wants to know why something that fits the character is not included on that character.
Besides, I don't really see how reduced fall damage would make them more OP. It seems more like a quality of life thing, and not a very good trait to begin with.
I'm still trying to figure out why people want such a useless trait.
Do you take falling damage enough for it to even matter? I don't. Maybe once a week or something.
You see, people are never satisfied with what they have. Wanting one thing after another for the class they play
A no weakness trail would be more appropiate for dragoon.
I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.
It's not really anything much and it's not related to fights. Lore-wise DRGs would logically have reduced fall damage since all of their jump skills launches them to the air and they land without receiving any recoil. The maneuver itself defies all laws of physics, really.
What annoys me that if there's a ground AoE and if you SSD / DFD and you fly across the AoE, you'll receive damage / debuff from it (Which happened to me with T11 gravity wells). I was like come on now, what's the point of making DRGs fly across the screen if you'll still get hit by something on the ground? If it's Shoulder Tackle, it makes sense since the MNK zooms to the boss. But DRG / NIN / BLMs are technically flying / teleporting o_O

It's not that I'm not satisfied at all. I'm really enjoying the buffs, but this really has nothing to do with it. Not taking fall damage really does not affect gameplay, it's just a silly lore change really that sort of makes sense with jumps.
I don't really care if we get it or not, but it would make sense if we got it what with jumps and all. I'm not really asking for the change, just noting it makes sense -- and it's not like I'm asking to take no AoE damage or anything that actually matters in content.
You're all aware you can Elusive Jump off ledges and take no fall damage, right?
For some reason in the latest dungeons such as Qarn HM and Hullbreaker, there is invisible wall preventing us Dragoons using Elusive Jump in such a manner that we could avoid taking fall damage. It stops us from going down and after wasting the Elusive Jump we are still top of the ledge and we are forced to go down by taking damage. Last dungeon where I recall that I could use Elusive Jump without any issues was Copperbell HM.
