Pretty much. While it does make sense, it's a pretty useless trait as it stands. But the amount of salt from all the ninjas and monks is hilariously real.
Like, wow.
I agree, SE should give DRG the trait and take it away from NIN.

Naw, as the other drgs have mentioned, drgs have elusive jumps. Instead, every drg should change direction and ask for 30 second cooldown elusive jumps instead!
I may have failed the xi dragoon academy's harsh training of standing very still in jeuno for days on end (leg muscle training, you see) and ended up in pld school but dammit that was my first choice! Even if I'm not raiding as a dragoon in xiv either, I still want drg to be stronk. They deserve to be the dps of the year, all years.

Maybe think of it as a matter of technique. As stated, when a Dragoon uses a jump skill off a cliff, they take absolutely no falling damage. When they run off it without taking any precautions, it hurts like any other class. Like if a trained diver just walks off a diving board.
Maybe in Heaven's ward we'll get an AOE placeable jump manuever so we can descend with style. (or jump between close enough but too far for a normal jump floating island).

I was thinking about a Jump skill that damages mobs in between its flight path.
hehe if we are talking about jump skills we want, i want a channeled one where i jump into the air and rain down spears in a targeted aoe area like freya in FFIX. Or maybe some sort of dragon breath attack.

I agree, its minor but significant. Our job skills are based around jumping! We should be able to land properly...
It gives them more mobility options in PvP. Don't need them being as agile as ninjas. Wait, who cares about PvP in current state =3=.
Either case, they could just get rid of those useless Enhanced <stat> passives. Those are the embodiment of skill/passive bloating and wasting slots (three of them no less). You know...maybe more unique/different passives to jobs instead of classes so we can set up a foundation for more diverse 2nd job routes...
