Yes and no. Having Healing spells when you solo is great, when you're partying with other people just let the healers focus on it.

I'd honestly rather have Aero than Cure... or Overpower... something offensive instead of a pidly heal... or a PLD-specific Heal that does something like 1.5x attack/str/vit(choice) as healing...
Have to agree with Yhoiryo on this. Unless SE decides to spin PLD into a cure class, leave them with what they get now and leave the curing to the healing classes. I'd rather focus on hate management, damage management and dps manage for PLD before shifting to a support/healer role.
I find healing useful... in only one application... The beginning of the Ultima fight in Prae. That's pretty much it. Stoneskin, amazing, 8.5k health, 850 damage shield. I love it. What I would like to see, is a small, and even weak AOE damaging skill (Maybe at the end of Riot Blade combo) with perhaps a potency of 100? I'd also like Cover to be all damage instead of just physical damage (I think healers really need a break sometimes). I agree with many others when I say leave healing to the healers. As for solo play, I either have plenty of survivability, or my Rank 10 healing chocobo is more than enough to take care of me.
The cure should be better on a paladin, hands down.
For every person saying paladin shouldn't have cure/healing magic.... you do realize paladin is a Knight that wields White Magic? Its in the description, even in RL paladin is defined as a Holy Knight; which in a fantasy setting means they have divine abilities IE cure.
"Welcome to the ranks of the blue mages. However, at this moment you are but an empty vessel--a base creature, weaker than the most ordinary mortal. A blue mage must wrest her strength and vitality from her enemies. Show me your hunger for unrivaled power! This is the only guidance I shall give you."
~ Final Fantasy XI Treasures of Aht Urhgan
That's all true, but a Paladin has never been exactly great at healing in any FF (Except maybe FFIX? That's the only one I've never played so I wouldn't know), so I don't see why they should change that now. It'd be even stranger if they made them stronger healers because of how different healing works in MMOs when compared to more traditional JRPGs. A Paladin's healing has always been weak... which is why it's good that White Magic offers more than just that. A Paladin could use Esuna-esque spells, Protect, Shell, etc. which makes it good for party assist outside of healing. That's why it would actually make more sense for them to get more damage mitigation through magic rather than a better heal. The cure should be better on a paladin, hands down.

since its 2/3 glad and 1/3 conjoin it should have better mind stats from job crystal 1st, having a curing spell with no mind wouldn't help too much. ive always wanted a healing spell or even oath for pld, especially while offtanking stuff like titan/shiva expo or progressing through current raids. wars excel greatly at dps offtanking, let pld be a healer offtank.
rather have combat raise
I've made some tests in FFIV on PSP and Cecil's Cure range between 400 and 600. It's not "that" great but it's still approximately twice what we can do now without crit or buffs for roughly the same max HP.
And in FFXIV 1.0, Cure was a useful tool in PLD's skills, even with a special healing spell that could heal two people at the same time.
I know it's not the same game and even I reject it frequently when people use it...but in FFXI, timing Cure spells between auto-attack was also a skill required from good PLD and gave a decent amount of enmity...which is not an issue in this game

I played the original FFIV and the DS version and in both instances Cure and Cure 2 on Cecil were rather pointless. Even if they do heal more than what a Paladin does in this game, in FFIV he was better of either attacking, using cover, or casting a protective spell. He didn't learn Protect or Shell in the original FFIV, but still had Esuna. Esuna was by far his best spell in that game.
Just looking at the numbers doesn't really tell you much. Just because numbers are higher it doesn't mean it's more useful. Rosa is such a strong WHM in FFIV that Cure and Cure 2 on Cecil were almost never used. Though it was nice to have someone else who could heal in the menu, and not waste Rosa's MP...
