Why blame SE? Check your ISP. Just because you don't DC and she does- doesn't mean there isn't packet loss somewhere between the router and the machine. Are you both playing FFXIV at the same time? Use 192.168.100.1 to check your modem's status, the forward should be between 10 and -10 and the reverse should be under 50 (at least in our system it is that way). You should also have 0 corrected or uncorrected code words. You can also use the IP of the router to log into it and check the settings. Do you have priorities set? does yours take priority over hers and therefore when a slow down occurs on the ISP side she is the one getting kicked? Run a speed test and a ping test on each machine (not at the same time), do the results match? What IP is the router assigning? If yours is a lower number than hers and the router does not have the ability to set priorities, yours takes priority. How in depth is your network? Adding pieces of eq adds "hops" or numbers of jumps a piece of data has to go through and back. did you try to hardwire her machine to the modem to see if the problem persists? Have you swapped her Cat5 cable with yours? Have you swapped ports on the router? Does she have any background programs running that you don't (torrents are a big one). Just a few ideas, feel free to ask any questions you have here, I will eventually answer.
