This is exactly how I feel. So disappointed in the direction this game is taking.
Thought it was going to be unique and something special.
Its selling out and watering itself down like every me too MMO.
I've just a couple of question for the supporter fandom of the cash shop:
1. For a fresh 50s(or someone who wants a second class dressed up) it's okay just walk on the cash shop, buy a bunch of these eternal bond plan and sell it to gain enought gil for full I100HQ craft gear with easy and effort-less pentameld? same exploit can dress up gatherer/crafter (even power level it)
2.I can deal with some optional item in cash shop. Minion, mount etc. but you HAVE TO make it untradable. If you want it just for fun and vanity why complain if they don't allow you to earn in game benefits ( like gil) ?
the whole cashshop "its only vanity" stuff was pure bullshit, this is the worst update i ever seen , square is literaly killing XIV , you guys really want this to go F2P, and here I was thinking " XIV will live forever just like wow, this is gonna be good " so sad to see this. features being cut out just to get moar money and mindless people paying nonetheless.
if they don't do anything about it I might have to give it a break for a couple of years until this get sorted out or go full f2p and people who paid get stupid V.I.P stuff like many RPGs that I played like Tera.![]()
people like you ...I hope everyone thinks like you so the game just go F2p and I can play it whenever I feel like![]()
any mass movement against SE yet ? lol , i would love to see raid scenario where the PLAYER BASE take on SE (boss)![]()
Shame that any post starting with "I want an official response.." never gets the response. I would really like to see what SE has to say about this.))
i think they try to wait to have get enough cash before answer, either they continue and the game finish into Free 2 play (a model favorised in china and country like this) or they do empty promise to not do it anymore before redo it 6-8 month later, because if you remember people was against cash shop at the release, strangely 1 years later a savage cash shop did appear!
I would wager that it's possible the Devs and Community Reps were told NOT to reply to these or they simply don't have an answer for you. They are not the owners of the company after all, they just work there. I'm sure they don't get to call absolutely all the shots, most companies don't really work that way. They usually have a designated higher up who wouldn't have to be the one to deal with angry customers, but gets to tell them what needs to be done according to another who is higher up than them.
And no, I don't have any actual proof of that, it was just a bit of logic to me. I could certainly be wrong, but it seems likely. It's a controversial subject obviously, and chances are either way, answer or no answer, the threads and posts about it won't stop. Either way they are fueling the flames.
Do what you will though. It is the forums after all.
Sounds logical. It's ultimately up to Square to decide if they want to answer or not and if they do, they're going to tell their devs/GM team what they want them to say to us. As I said before, it will not matter how Square answers because people are too upset to take any answer at face value short of the cash shop doing a total 180 or having a massive price cut.
Nowhere fast.OK then. If they're optional, how about we take glamour away and put that in the cash shop? I mean, it's optional after all. Dyes? Optional. Unique armor models? Optional. Hairstyles? Optional. Coil? Optional. Extreme modes? Optional.
Do you see where I'm going with this?
The whingers tend to forget that they got almost a full year of content updates outside of what is usually saved for expansion packs, including new quests, stories, JOB, outfits, events, accessories, appearances, construction differences in Revenants Toll, raids, dungeons, minions, mounts, etc.
I'm not happy with some of the cash shop items, but I do understand that SE has been generous with a year full of content for no cost to me apart from ongoing subscription - which btw, pays for my character to remain active and recieve Game-fixes, it does not entitle me to any of the things i listed above.
They put a few items up that aren't necessary to your game progression and won't negatively impact it what-so-ever, unless you're from one of the I-want-everything herds.
If people want to trade the eternal bond item for gil, it doesn't hurt you at all, nor does it hurt the economy, the exchange will inevitably (unlike rmt) normalise through market tax and vendor payments.
TBH, i don't think people here actually understand what does and doesn't hurt economies, Money sitting in peoples bank is money that is stagnant and not moving.
