Was called bitching about wanting the dps to focus more on position the ads for the snowball fight and not hit the yeti... because he can be downed on the first round if you hit all the spriggians each time (which is about ~1min). if dps were left to kill the yeti alone it takes like 10 plus mins lol... no not every hit counts >.> have fun not being pressured to MAX OUTPUT ZOMG and PLAY WITH THE SPRIGGIANS!!!

DPS never mindlessly push skills not on cool down. Ever. It does not matter if your close range or long range DPS, what you said is simply not true. DPS are generally treated as cannon fodder in that they do not get priority in healing and they have to fend for themselves more so than healers and tanks. They have to dodge more AoEs and mobility and quick thinking is a much higher requirement than say for tanks. In fact the easiest job in the game (not just coming from me but from all the tanks I know) is tanking in which you have three main priorities, position mobs, keep aggro and occasionally switch between OT and MT due to debuff's on some instances, dodging boss attacks is quite often not required and actually frowned upon because it alters the position of the boss though there are some exceptions.

On the threads topic however I do not think the new dungeons are too hard or any harder than a lot of older ones, when know and learn the mechanics of a fight the rest is simple. One thing will add is the Krakken is a little odd, not hard just a little odd. The trick groups I am in tend to use is simply killing one side of tentacles and then attacking boss, rinse and repeat. We don't see a reason to go running all over map to pick off them all and while boss takes more time to down than would think due to how fast the tentacles respawn making DPS time on the boss shorter than ideally would like...it is possible to do the fight quite quickly still. If I was going to change anything I would make the tentacle spawn time longer but it is not needed and is just a preference.

lol @ person above me who cannot read.

Never said DPS was hard. Said it was harder than tanking and that every tank I know says the same thing. Said the claim that all DPS do is mindlessly push skills is inaccurate, fact is no class or job just stands there mindlessly pushing skills, any that do would die and die constantly. The job that comes closest to standing there spamming skills is tanking if any were to be claimed did so, even then it would still not be true that they actually do that on the whole since they do have to move to pick up bosses and adds, occasionally switch between OT and MT plus on some occasions actually dodge some attacks even if not the case for most.

Yeah, I honestly wouldn't call any of the new dungeons hard.
Personally, my biggest issue with them is that they're not very fun and due to the way they're set up feel like they drag on for a while.

Only the final boss in Sastasha HM bugs me because it takes forever and it's really boring. Some of Snowcloak can drag like the part where mobs crash through the wall and you need to stand around killing them.

wall section prevents speed runs, which I wish SE would do more of. Speed runs are boring to me.

I love hard 4 man content, and thus far we only really ever had 2.0 Amdapor Keep and pre-nerf Pharos Sirius that were a bit of a challenge. I like these new dungeons, they are certainly more challenging compared to previous ones (although screw Kraken and his 900billion hp). I just wish more people would respect the mechanics in the dungeons on not try and faceroll them. Learn how to do things first, then you can learn how to ignore the mechanics after

I have to wonder... everyone who's saying "Oh, it's good to have a challenging 4-man dungeon!" do they mean challenging at item level 110? Thing is, these aren't meant to be Binding Coil. So far, all 4 man dungeons have been intended to be farmed for tomestones, as well as to use the drops from them as upgrades. Yes, I know you can spam CM or hunts until you have enough soldiery for a full level 100 set, but that's besides the point. Thing is, every dungeon so far has been intended to be doable when the items within were an upgrade. Hell, even the first phases of coil are intended to be done with the set just a bit lower (level 70 for first coil, 90 for second, 110 for final).

The issue I have is that this is a dungeon that drops level 90 gear, and yet it seems impossible to do with DPS at an item level of 90, let alone 80. As it is, I relish having a tank levelled, and just drop if both DPS aren't ilvl 100+. It's not worth it to waste my time beating my head against a boss that requires better gear than the party has.

Your adoration is much appreciated, however you must use a fantasia to be my girl ;-) Although Ropes and chains excite me.....
