Oh, and Gloam (monk) shared models with Auroal (Bard) too....

They have slightly different designs and coloring schemes. Also, BRD doesn't share armor with NIN, they have their own unique sets. There IS a subtle different between the Scouting and Aiming sets, mostly in the color schemes and stats, as BRD and NIN actually have different stat emphases.

i know the feeling, but understand why. They want to keep people from getting BIS from just the poetics gear, while at the same time making the forthcoming 24 man raid gear viable for just-under-coil level.
