Bard jewelry is shared with ninja because they're both DEX classes. Honestly the jewelry situation is just fine since it's based on primary stats and nothing else
Bard left-side equipment is NOT shared with ninja because...well, just LOOK at bard gear and try to picture a melee class wearing it. So they tacked DEX onto the monk gear and now those two share it.
...personally i would've liked if they had opened up that gear to BRDs as well since not all of us want to look like we just got back from carnivale, but I digress.
The fool is clearly you, for ninja's poetic shares armor model with bard... ....THEY BOTH SHARE MODELS WHY.
Oh, and Gloam (monk) shared models with Auroal (Bard) too....

They have slightly different designs and coloring schemes. Also, BRD doesn't share armor with NIN, they have their own unique sets. There IS a subtle different between the Scouting and Aiming sets, mostly in the color schemes and stats, as BRD and NIN actually have different stat emphases.
They're recolors of each other is where I'm getting at. It's also that stat difference that makes me want to not get the bard top...They have slightly different designs and coloring schemes. i know the feeling, but understand why. They want to keep people from getting BIS from just the poetics gear, while at the same time making the forthcoming 24 man raid gear viable for just-under-coil level.
