While logic dictates they won't do it, they do reserve the right to do it.

The primary issue with parsers, officially, is that they can cause a lot of virulent behavior amongst players in runs. It has nothing to do with solo play or anything like that, I don't believe.

But because of the legal maneuvering and the grey area between what is and is not considered an acceptable use of parsers, they've just banned them outright. But that's all just my theory.

I think your fiend is fine. But if your friend was in a dungeon run and started heckling the DPS for not maximizing their numbers, that would not be okay.

We have both Yoshi and the ToS which says 3rd party programs are ban-able. Yoshi saying if use them keep it to yourself because SE has to take action if they do as their ToS states. Why take the risk when you know it specifically states in the ToS not to do it even if they potentially do not ban people from videos and I say 'potentially' on purpose, use some common sense and do not put yourself in a position where you could get banned for it. Even yourself admit such by using the word "probably" so admit there is a risk person might get banned for it.

You know, this issue (and many others) would probably go away if SE ever developed a way to make add-ons which would be usable for ALL players, not just the PC cabal.

But since it's been over a year now, and they seem no closer to it now than they were then... *shrug*

This would be a lessons learned from FFXI (because it is a cross platform MMO).

In XIV, their recent response to TP display of other party members is also a perfect example to promote someone to make a 3rd party tool that does it on PC.

I understand the PS3 was a long awaited promise since 1.0. However, inside 6 months of release the Dev Team was already stating limitations with certain game elements to keep the game's framerate high enough to be playable.

This shouldn't hold back other platforms from improved features, its to be expected on an older non upgradable platform. Something both SE and PS3 users need to understand.

There's no outright disapproval like the case with bots. (Also mentioned in the video)
