What's the point of R50 Gear...

This thread assumes 50 is the end all level cap also, and that the average person only wanted to level up one job to 50. 80% of FFXI for a while was leveling. Idk how long this playerbase *super pretentious* can take it though.

Well, my favourite class is Lancer and I want to play as a Lancer as much as I can, but right now there is nothing to do for me but leveling and obtaining gear.

I tried most of the NMs and it's really boring. The fights are not challenging and are just a waste of time, because the gear on my retainer is better than the rewards (Templar's/Bucaneers/etc...).

I just think the OP of this thread is retarded as it is...

The game is being improved... And it's been stated that this will take a long time. If you don't have the patience for this, play when the game is ready... Simple, no?

And again, there was never a plan for endgame at this level. We were not meant to sit at 50 for over a year doing nothing. People have known for a long time that there are large overhauls taking place. If the thread was addressed in the form of constructive feedback (ie; "I'd like to see this happen with gear...") then it would be different. But it wasn't. Useless whining about something that's going to be changed. No helpful tips, no solid suggestions...

And trust me, I've been at this game long enough to know what hitting 50 entails. I'm not bitching about it though... because I've read the information provided and understand what is changing. When new things are provided, be they mechanics, lore, endgame, then I will complain and offer suggestions if I see fit. But I'm not going to start pouting about something I know isn't going to be the same several months down the road.

Explain to me how there wasn't a plan, obviously the old dev. team was so bad that they didn't know what a game is actually about.

At some point there will be nothing else we will be able to do, but to sit around with our Templar Haubergeons and Silver Tricornes.

What is more constructive than a discussion between people with different opinions?

You're optimistic if you think that it will take only seberal months to fix-... I mean create the endgame.

As I said, I'm not bitching about anything, I just want to find motivation to get to rank 50 other then being able to equip awesome looking gear.
