I meant the base before the trait. Right now Energy drain restores 266 MP WITH the trait. Meaning it restores 133 without it at level 50. I think they should double the base. This means before the trait it would restore 266 MP and then with the trait it would restore 532 MP. They should also add like +20PIE when equipping the SMN job stone. This slight increase would give us slightly more max MP increasing the effect of aetherflow and increasing our mp regen slightly.
Energy Drain does restore enough mp it just cost 25-37 dps per use. A quick band aid fix until 3.0 expansion would either be reduce the cool down of enkindle to 120s or increase to potency of DoTs.I'm hoping that during 3.0 Expansion the Summoner gets removed form the Arcanist and becomes it's on Base Class like Dark Knight and other 3.0 jobs. Every class is already their Job anyways.I meant the base before the trait. Right now Energy drain restores 266 MP WITH the trait. Meaning it restores 133 without it at level 50. Lancer- is a low level Dragon
Pugilist- is a low level Monk
Rouge- is a low level Ninja
Archer- is a low level Bard
Thaumaturge- is a low level Black Mage
Arcanist- is low level Scholar that has three different colored carbuncle's that occasionally likes to dress up as a Summoner
Conjurer- is a low level White Mage
Marauder- is a low level Warrior
Gladiator- is a low level Paladin
The Class system is pointless in Final Fantasy XIV 2.0. SE should of had everyone start off as a level 1 Job instead of having classes that we level up to 30 then unlock their Jobs.
Energy Drain doesn't restore enough for SMN, period. There is nothing more to say. Potency increases are unnecessary and a cooldown decrease for Enkindle would do absolutely nothing. Moreover, 90% of your post has nothing to do with the topic at hand, stop posting irrelevant drivel.
This is probably a stupid idea but how much would it help to put piety on your Novus in this case or otherwise work piety into your gear? Since the amount of MP you get from Aetherflow is 20% of your total MP, you'd get more back with more piety. I'm guessing it probably wouldn't be a significant enough increase, though, or a build like that would have been done already.
When a bard actually gets around to using ballad, then its all gravy. But they usually dont. Like above if i really need to Ill spend all 3 aether stacks on drain once in a long fight, and that brings me back up to a manageable level.
Also, buy a stack of X-ethers. They arent too expensive.
think you guys are missing the real issue, and that is that using energy drain is a DPS loss. We already lose to BLM in single and often multi-target scenarios. Why should SMNs have to resort to lowering their dps to restore mp when BLM does not have to this AND their single target is already superior
No, HQ one restore max 530 mp, and that mp will not last for long or not even worth it to trade for an INT potion. In those case I rather ask the BRD to do ballad until around 1k mp (which will not take long even when the SMN keep up attack) or when aetheflow is up to recover another 1k, then the MP will be around 1,5k to 2k which is enough for a while.
Never ever use energy drain with intention to try to recover MP or HP, BRD will not lose that much dps for use ballad for 10-15 sec, don't make a big deal out of it, just ask for ballad.
