The ability to meld materia to gear is what allows crafting gear - despite lower base levels - to be competitive with the remainder of gear and desireable against its competition. Let it be.

I hate the crafting gear to be honest... Nothing against crafting in general, but the fact that it's the best gear in the game is pretty silly.
The ones who have beat T13 already had the best gear pretty much. The FC "Lucrezia" couldn't beat T13 with 110 gear instead of crafted gear I heard, and they are extremely good players...
If you could add Materia to Coil gear, it would be better... but I don't like it anyways. You shouldn't have to be rich or something to get that level of gear. Sure crafted gear can be the best, but it's not good enough that I feel a necessity getting it, unless I decide to become one of the first raiders or something...

Leave any blue quality gear materia-less, no need to add materia slots, eww no oh no.

This is absolutely hilarious to me.
People complain at great length that crafting gear isn't worth the trouble compared to dungeon gear, and then once it IS made viable compared to end game gear or at least towards acquiring endgame gear, they complain that it's TOO good.
Crafting 4-star gear takes a lot of work and money. Throwing materia slots on coil gear would diminish the time, effort, and money crafters put in to making gear, as well as make taking crafts beyond 50 for the purposes of making things other than cosmetic gear and housing items completely pointless. This still wouldn't apply towards food and potions, but those two have always been an exception anyway.
That's the problem. It's not competitive, it blows Coil gear out of the water. It's not even a discussion.
And it's not a rich get richer thing, that's how it's intended to be. Raid gear is supposed to be the best gear in the game. That's the entire point.
Oh, putting materia slots on coil gear would ruin all the effort it takes to make the gear, but it's completely fine for the raiders who put hours and hours into learning raids to get completely screwed? So it's an issue if crafted gear is relegated to cosmetic gear, but it's not an issue that coil gear is essentially cosmetic gear now? That logic is so backwards that I literally feel like I lost brain cells responding to that. Christ. This is absolutely hilarious to me.

It still is.
All your calculations use determination as a deciding factor, not considering what your primary stat is doing for you as well.

How is crafted i110, when the current top tier is i130, a problem? It isn't a problem. Pentamelded i110 puts it on about par to ~i120 gear only.

How is having a few materias in gear any more expensive then getttin a novus weapon?I hate the crafting gear to be honest... Nothing against crafting in general, but the fact that it's the best gear in the game is pretty silly.

You'd still have to restrain the materias to the gear ilvl, meaning that you could add a few ACC materias here and there, making BIS very VERY flexible. Its a good idea.

You can't just ignore VIT too... people always like to ignore VIT for some reason I don't understand.OK.

Tell me how to make the former stronger than the latter, and which equations you use. Also remember to factor in the extra 15 dexterity and what that does for you.
