No it isn't being petty at all, why should I take a gamble on someone? There's no reason at all to take someone that hasn't managed to clear it in a farm party.

My requirements for T6? i110 and HA weapon (Nexus only acceptable if you have HA too). Some might think that's ridiculous. I, however, enjoy my efficient farm party that is reliably killing the thing and getting loot. This party is no place at all for a newbie. Someone is going to point out "but HA and Nexus are both i115 wtf", and that person has missed the point entirely.

Your party, your rules. Though I may not like your answer, if I want to be an upstanding part of the community, I should take that answer gracefully and wish you luck. I agree that getting a /tell from someone who says they know the fight but haven't cleared is a gamble. Some are willing to take that risk, others are not. I will either join with someone willing to risk, or go join a clear party.

If there wasn't a message, the party leader would just check your achievements for the win. What you're saying is "Myth Message being used to bust players who are trying to cheat their way into farm parties". If there aren't parties for learning or first win in party finder, why not form one yourself, with your own entry requirements.

I agree, BUT I do believe in giving the newbie some credit that they've actually looked at a guide and need the fight xp. I despise people who see the myth/soldiery message and flee. If you want a complete kill run, DO NOT USE DF, rather form a party in PF with the comments "Please have kill exp."

I cannot count many times I've joined moogle ex on DF and I got called a noob as healer on my first several runs (same team), but for shits and giggles this one was the straw that broke the camels back: The big bad tank "that supposedly had kill exp" died, due to his own idiocy of not swapping at three stacks. I admit that I forgot about the charm spell from the tank moogle that makes folks march to the green poo in the first run, because I did not know what the icon looked like to dispell, but as for the mechanics of the fight, I knew them enough to keep out of the middle while healing and which moogle to stay away from.

tl;dr: Don't use DF if you want to kill ex w/o first timers in it. Furthermore, don't use DF for Moogle ex ever!

I see both sides of this argument. I've been on both sides of this argument.

I had a LOT of experience in T6 and had gotten the damn thing down to 1-3-5% many times with PUG groups (since I don't have a static) and it was frustrating not being able to join groups because they intentionally exclude people who haven't cleared before. Luckily, I found a nice group and explained my situation and they allowed me to join. We beat T6 and T7 that very same evening with no issues.

However, I also see the negative aspects this creates. About a week ago, I was looking in PF for EX primal parties. I've been on a big mount kick since the patch went in, and joining any Garuda, Levi, Ifrit EX farming parties I can hoping to get a mount. Well, this particular person literally had a message stating "Farm party only, let's farm this bi***."

So, I joined. We get in Levi EX and the message comes up about someone being new. I thought maybe someone suck in. We proceeded to one-shot the fight. The PF creator, as well as two other people, received the achievement for beating Levi EX for the first time.

Then as soon as we exit, the person who created the PF states "thanks for the win," and disbands the party. I was absolutely livid. I had personally never been lied to like that in Party Finder before. The person is now on my blacklist.

Hm... I don't recall to have Divebomb or Thunder or Supernova when Nael is at 1%-5% threshold?? Unless the party of 7 can not take him down till the next Fire-Ice phase ??? @-@...when he starts Bahamut's Favor at 5%

People like this tend to charge other player for their "help" to clear harder content in game. Does that sound like fun to you?

Best bet is just to make your own learning, then move it up to clears and farms in your description. I'll have to do the same thing because I didn't grind 2.4 like a lot of others did and am just getting to Shiva, so I can't join any of these "must have win"

If you're doing this through a roulette or duty finder then that's a different story. There shouldn't be any reason to expect everyone to be use to this content in that sense..but if you put up a clear / farm party then you need to be able to keep up with them. Otherwise, you'll need to join a learning or clear PT.

Right, because not like there's another Thunderstruck or anything that happens shortly after favor...

Have you done T9? If you haven't wiped once to someone using LB at 5% and getting thunder then killing everyone because they are in animation lock, you clearly are inexperienced with the fight.

In the last week I have learned and cleared ( and went on to farm ) shiva, t6 and t8. What I did was I made a LS. Every time I'd meet some decent players treating content seriously, I'd throw them an invite. I then could gather a good group of like minded players willing to tackle content they havent cleared. I spent no more than 2 days on each fight, between "practice" pfs, and "full exp, going for kill" pfs and now I make " no soldiery message pfs" because well..." I did my time" so to say.

Also, it became increasingly apparent too though that people would join these practice groups without having learned the mechanics of the fight, and yh these have to be weeded out. ( example = not having a clue what a tower is in t8 ) and then theres the people who can't get it after 20 tries ( example = dying to blighted bouquet constantly in t6 ) and u gotta remove them too...

Don't trust it to DFing. Make your own pf. It WILL fill up if it's for coil 5+. What I see again and again are people just not taking the matter into their own hands and saying "theres no practice groups in pf". Just make one!

You can do the exact same. And btw I did this on Odin ( of all the unpopulated servers...)

No I have not yet done t9 and in my possession, I have HA Claw, HA Spear, HA staff, Tank Chest, and Dragoon chest. I am sorry that I am not as pro as you. I am sorry for not making that stupid mistakes and sorry for playing as Melee MNK for all the time.
