Lol, Bayohne, this is just like Nintendo screwing over the US with the Collector's Edition of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (for the 3DS). I don't know why marketing and PR is better in the European territories ;-(Hi lolnin,
Sorry for the delay in responding to you! The FINAL FANTASY XIV Game of the Year edition is only planned to be released in European territories and there are currently no plans to release it in North America. Also, for your reference, this edition of the game is not a Collector's Edition and will not include the CE-related items.
So....it IS woe.....Hi lolnin,

If i were to hazard a guess it's a combination of a recession fo japanses pop culture (partuclay anime) in America and Europe getting the short of of the stick for years when it coems to games (and anime)
That is once again a shame. If you are going to have a game thats available in various countries, all its merchandise should ALSO be available in those countries. This should include GOTY editions, as well as novelty items like books, plushies, and other knicknacks. Please tell your marketing and PR teams this. They aren't doing a very good job accomodating all of the XIV'ers right now.Hi lolnin,

Considering that the EU gets the short end of the stick all the time when it comes to collectors editions that come out in the US but not over here, like FFX/X2 remaster and FFXIII-3 Lightning Returns, and everyone kicks off about a non CE game coming out in the EU but not the US? Interesting
It's almost like you can't read. Perhaps other people are upset about a CE or something, but the point of this thread is BOXED versions. Do you know what that means? Perhaps you should google standard edition WoW expansions. They come in..you guessed it..a BOX!!!!! And they aren't CE!!!!! As mentioned a million other times in this thread, it is only the 2nd box available AT ALL (PC wise, there are console versions available) and it is region locked. It wouldn't be an issue if there were standard boxes available. There are weird people like me (many, actually) that like to have the tangible boxes/discs (REGARDLESS IF STANDARD OR CE).Considering that the EU gets the short end of the stick all the time when it comes to collectors editions that come out in the US but not over here, like FFX/X2 remaster and FFXIII-3 Lightning Returns, and everyone kicks off about a non CE game coming out in the EU but not the US? Regardless, thanks for the response Bayohne even though that is incredibly unfortunate and silly. I know you have nothing to do with these decisions and probably have no say, but I really do hope they don't make this same mistake with Heavansward.
This is why I said, if your gonna bring a game out in a bunch of different countries, their collectors editions, goty editions, merchandise, etc should all be unified. Otherwise you step on the toes of your fans immensely! That being said, Im glad the grimoire is just a box. If it were a real book I'd be very angry.Considering that the EU gets the short end of the stick all the time when it comes to collectors editions that come out in the US but not over here, like FFX/X2 remaster and FFXIII-3 Lightning Returns, and everyone kicks off about a non CE game coming out in the EU but not the US? lol....
Includes all updates. Glad they are trying to treat patches like expansion packs these days.
^they merely mean you don't have to dl the patches before or after...
Trust me this is a blessing! Many people dont have great connections and a years worth of patches take a verrrry long time to download on a slow connection. This by itself is worth having the GOTY edition for.
