FFXIV Game of the Year Edition

Terrible IGN article aside, it's been about 3 weeks since it was published. Have not seen anything about this on Square's website or store, just wondering if at some point we will be able to pre-order it? Limited edition and roughly 2 weeks away, I'm sure many of us would like to get our hands on it as fast as we can!

Another question, most games that do a GOTY bundle are usually CE as well. If we purchase this will it be the CE version, giving us access to the 2 mounts, barding etc?

Seems way too early to try putting out GOTY version, for the most part it's not much different to CE and can still buy CE versions plus there hasn't been that much added to the game since ARR relaunched. I expected them to some point put out a GOTY version but not till they had at least 2-3 large expansions out of which the first expansion hasn't even been released yet.

But my question is if the CD key is going to be the collectors edition, so it will have items such as the coeurl, fat chocobo, behemoth barding etc. Would love to know what the price range will be as well, hopefully the same as the original physical CE which was what 80$?

Might be better to ask this on twitter direct to SE because it is very rare SE bother to talk to us on the English forums. Alternatively if speak Japanese might have much more luck posting the question on the Japanese section as SE have a more active engagement on that section of the forums.

So i searched for it a bit more since it's getting closer..found them promoting it on their FB from October 14th and came across a really awful statement.

We are proud to announce that a limited “Game of the Year” edition of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn will be available for PC from 14th November 2014 in EU territories!

I then checked the larger version of the promo picture, and there is only a Pegi rating, no ESRB.



Is this really going to be EU only? What kind of decision is this? It should be ALL regions. There's no excuse to sell a boxed copy of the game in one region only when the only other boxed edition was a Collector's Edition that is no longer available. Come on SE...

SE please can we at least get a confirmation if this box is EU only? If so, why? I honestly wouldn't care if there were standard box editions (much like WoW) but there aren't. The first box (physical CE) is no longer available for purchase, and this one is potentially region locked.

Going off the total lack of information a week out, and it not being listed on Amazon UK, I have a feeling that something happened between IGN's new post (who are the only people to talk about it other than the XIV facebook page) and now that have caused it to be canceled/delayed.

I'm just glad it includes ALL UPDATES like that photo says.

Would kinda suck to have to play 2.0 while everyone was playing 2.4.
