    [Personal] PvE Progression VS Crafting

    Lodestone Profile: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/5710448/

    Hello,

It appears that I am now finally reaching the end of all classes / jobs being capped. Personally, I find myself at a fork in the road at this point in the game. This is my first MMO experience and I lack the foresight of some of you long time veteran MMO players. Any advice, big or small would be greatly appreciated.

So, I have to ask you all. Should I focus more on endgame raiding, or furthering my DoL / DoH? Obvious answer would be “Do what you enjoy more!” but I know better than that. Looking at the usual post in the forums, I am finding a lot of threads being created about people not being able to clear old content due to a lack of static or people joining pf learning groups. That said I find crafting to take too much of what little time I play during the week. Time I could be using to learn said PvE content while it’s still fresh and easy to find parties.

My biggest fear is getting too far back from being able to do content as it comes out, while also being too far back from crafting anything profitable and saving enough gil to buy a small plot and other vanity based items.

Let me know what you guy's think I should place more focus on. For PvE I'm currently on Ramuh Ex & T8. For crafting I still have a few classes to level from 30-50 but I am starting to SB gear to meld to my DoH / DoL gear.

Crafting can be profitable from numerous standpoints; you don't need top tier melded gear to make decent profit. Just watch the MB and dig for whats currently hot (I managed to get the small high tier plot I wanted in a rush with only semi-melded gear on crafting when plots first opened up). Clearing group content should always come first since as you already said yourself, it gets harder to find people as it gets older. Sure, you might not make that possible 5mil gil sale and instead sell the same item for 3mil later down the road, but at least you cleared the content you wanted to clear, and still making profit in the end.

Edit- Balmung will be a bit more difficult to find those niches since its a heavily populated server - comes with the territory. Although I did visit that server this weekend checking out other servers markets and I did see some of my typical go-to's for profit open.

I will try to study the MB more often to see what I can make at my current Lv, and sell them to generate a steady income. It might be better to clear party content first like you said. Now that BcoB drops mats I'd be devastated if I couldn't farm them. I can see SE pulling the same thing later down the line with Scob and eventually Fcob. Might as well grit my teeth and start looking for a static to finish Scob and Fcob off.

Thank you for the responce Sho86 ^.^

Why not do both? I do both. I'm rich(in-game), raiding final coil and have rank 40 in PvP. Some people will assume I'm a jobless, lifeless neet, but I have a full time job and a life. I use a schedule to make sure the time I have is used in the best way possible. I know some people don't like schedules but I love them. Only problem is I get upset when it's disturbed.
