    To be honest, it is a bit odd that PLD doesn't have any curative abilities at all. Classic FF Paladins (of which FFXIV's PLD is clearly meant to be an example, regardless of whether it's "Knight" in Japanese or not, what with the CNJ subclass requirement and all) have always been front-line fighters with the ability to cast some healer/support spells. In this game, though, they don't have even a scrap of healer/support, except for what they take from their CNJ subclass (and even there, Cure is too gimped by lack of MND to be worth cross-classing).

    It'd be nice to see PLD get back in the saddle as proper "holy knights" again, and with the level increase coming with the expansion SE has an opportunity to do just that. Maybe not something as overwrought as the OP's suggestion, but when a visceral, bloodsoaked class like WAR has better native healing ability than PLD, something is clearly wrong. :P

    Holy succor was the ability to cure other and half cured yourself. Divine veil was an other ability that if the paladin recived a cure will cast a regen effect on anyone around it. Those two abilities would be awsome if they implement them back.

    You are right.

    I think that Paladin's Should augment the heals they receive so that healers still perform their role, they just have to do less of ( so now they can DPS). Here is an example.

    CNJ casts stoneskin, PLD gains the effect of stoneskin. PLD Casts stone spikes, reflects 10% of damage absorbed by stone skin.

    CNJ casts Regen, PLD gains the effect of Regen. PLD Casts Curaga and heals himself immediately for the full potency of regen (thundercloud for PLDs)

    The examples I just listed were off the top of my head and are probably OP as hell. I just think that instead of giving them flat out heals (they get enough of them already) they should get healing and defensive augments that consume MP and aren't just CDs.

    Paladin doesn't need any cures, they're not the same vein of Paladin as featured in previous FF games or in FF XI (Where self-cure is one of their biggest tools). They're just guards of the Ul'Dah royalty in this lore, just like summoners are limited to Egis. What Paladin -does- need however is some sort of follow-up for Riot Blade to give them a true second combo option, or just a second combo route altogether. Maybe even add a two-part combo route off of Shield Swipe with an additional debuff or self-buff since Pacification ceases to be relevant after content reaches level 50.

    I will admit it sucks that so many of our cross-classes suck as a result of having CNJ as one of our options, but stoneskin is a good consolation prize even if the rest of the tools are garbage.

    FFXIV 1.0 disagrees. A mixture of self and non-self cures were fantastic.

    about the MP thinge, I myself don't have problem containing MP. With the Riot Blade Combo It can be restore quite nicely and I use it more as a OT so the MP thing might need another look at.

    Kind of like 1.x where PLDs can proc a Divine Regen which also boosted enmity as well as the original succor, which is what actually made PLD a PLD.

    But 1.x was actually going in a unique direction, ARR is all about everyone being the same and lack of depth/simple gameplay.
