    Are DPS checks all what they got to make Final Coil difficult?

    cleared T10 & T11 ( T12 55% where the strict DPS check start )

    and the only hard points of the fights were DPS checks

    we didnt have any difficulty with any mechanics but DPS checks

    hell T6 & T7 were fun

    Maybe because people are complaining that the mechanics are too tough, one-shot mechanics are too unforgiving etc so FCoB are made towards tank and spank but you have to spank really hard

    Its the only way to make the content easier as you gear up which is the intended design, whereas in older encounters like twintania, T7 etc, no amount of echo or gear will save you

    Actually i hated how some encounters (t7 again) became harder as your gear became better as a badly timed phase transition would wipe you :/

    2.5 second global cooldown and the poor net code make it impossible to introduce time sensitive or meaningful random mechanics.

    T6 was nothing more than a DPS check as well though. Getting bees down fast enough before instant kills, DPS check A. Getting adds down fast enough before the party goes boom, DPS check B. Next to that, there's some positional play. In that sense T6 and T10 are very similar in as to what they offer.

    The most important difference though is that after a year of FFXIV, many players have grown accustomed to these sort of mechanics. Making it very easy to adjust to them. But none of that is new to any sort of MMO though. For experienced guilds raid encounters quickly turn into little more than DPS checks anyway. And the time to clear a raid tends to solely depend on the number of bosses within a raid encounter, and the necessity for loot upgrades from the raid itself in order to be able to meet the DPS checks. Mechanics wise nothing is ever truly hard. It's merely a script which you're going through, and as long as all raid members are able to follow the script things quickly become relatively easy.

    poor design on raids and no ideas is all i can say

    thats why its beaten in 5 days unlike 2nd coil that took around 2 weeks
