Would you guys just stop comparing the relic to shit like this. Theres a large difference between relic and any tome weapons: RELIC EVOLVES. It becomes stronger, you never have to get rid of it. It may be useless today but it will be useful tomorrow.

You mean, was i piss when i did Nexus after i got T9 weapon bc it was better? Hmm, no.. i was not piss at all, but i can tell you, this should never happen. The whole problem here is this, i am not talking about lass boss weapon, i am talking about those weapon you can buy with new currency, those are in place to HELP player to defeat boss, as the relic. I mean, tell me the use of relic otherwise?

The last nexus upgrade made no sense since it was 1 month before 2.4, was literally useless in t6-9 content.

Again, you keep calling them tombstone weapons....but as of now, the only way to get the key item needed to get said weapon in the first place...IS TO DO FINAL COIL. Sure, coil might also drop better weapons.... but you keep making sound like SE is giving the weapon away for free...and that LOTS of people will have them. And yes, maybe the final chapter of the Crystal Tower will drop the key item as well...but that is months away.

So for now, for many people, (maybe not you personally), their Relic IS their best option. And as others have pointed out, even for you, it's likely that as a TANK, you won't see the key item needed for the weapon until at least every dps on your team has theirs. [I]Also, and this is important, you can beat the final turn of final coil with you Nexus. I get it may not be your 'BiS' at the time....but I could argue that between RNG having to work in your teams favor for the key item drops+ then needing to spend tomestones on a weapon instead of gear that is also a potential upgrade (BiS), the mild boost in stats might not be worth the invenstment. Because if you can beat the final boss of coil w/ the Nexus, and since that's where you're real BiS will drop, spending points on a weapon you likely use for a couple weeks while learning the final boss (if it takes your team that long), is likely not worth the time/loss of spending the points elsewhere. Especially since your whole issue now is that Nexus is replaced by it.

Oh and again, I don't know how to make this any clearer....just because a small percentage of the playerbase is challenging Final Coil while it's the newest and hardest thing, doesn't mean the majority of the playerbase is/will. For most players, their Relic weapon is going to almost always be their 'BiS'. Because most players will actually progress in the Relic questline faster than they progress in the coil questline.

PS: this still doesn't get to the meat of the matter though. You are misunderstanding what a relic is. A relic is an upgradable weapon. You will always have it by your side. All those other weapons in game? Good for a couple months and then you toss em. The relics MAIN saving grace is it's constantly evolving as you do. But the tradeoff is that at basically every step in the relic-progression, there will also be weapons of similar strength. Which is OKAY. It doesn't lessen the relic...because the point of the relic is to have again, a weapon that grows with you.

And even if you are you clearing t11 you still can't get your tomestone weapon until minimum 12 days from now anyways, and of course only one person per group per week. Best case scenario group beats t11 this week, next week, and the tuesday after the reset and then they can have 3/8 players with 120 weapons by Nov 11 assuming they all grind their poetry that same day on reset day.

Most likely by the time 3.0 comes out Relics will be i135 and BiS again, we just have to wait for the quests to drop. Hell, if the "Ultimate weapon" comment of Yoshi-P's is taken as a lot do the Relic could be i140.

As others have said though, Nexus will be BiS for the vast majority of the game's population for a while given Final Coil's difficulty.

That's how I see it honestly, you're upgrading the slot with the higher tier of the relic, just as you are upgrading the slot with the higher tier of coil weapons. The difference is that the relic is gated by progressive steps; you have to start with clean to zenith and so on. Back in the example I brought up, I could instantly pick up an unweathered weapon without ever having to touch t5 for allagan. The whole relic upgrading thing is just another cover over how you obtain the next part of the weapon; you'd be completing objectives rather than scoring a clear and a drop.

Yet another topic made by a fluffy and static-less casual X.X was the same in 2.2, how is hard to understand that relics re not meant to be always the top tier BIS weapons... It only serve as catch-up weapons to motivate people to start raiding... But look like they still didn't got it.

This is the kind of stuffs that make me die a little inside, they want the best with no serious efforts (no, relic isn't serious efforts, it's just a brain-dead-grind fest mixed with a massive gils crash under your wallet).

Hahaha! This post genuinely made me laugh. I honestly can't tell if you were serious when you wrote this, but wow... just wow.

Sure... relic upgrades. By taking a path of extreme resistance and agonizing annoyance to do so.

But then, so does all the new gear. Nexus was only 'top of the line' for barely a whisper of time, and even then not THAT much of an upgrade. Give it time and new upgrades will appear, and yet more new weapons. A fully complete zodiac weapon will almost always look like a top-of-the-line regular weapon. Only one takes a lot less effort to acquire.

Three guesses where I'm putting my investments. I'll give you a hint, Atma grinding and the horrible animus books don't picture in it.

Ya, like they did for nexus, 6 month after the release of t6-9.

JFI and clarify, relic is not needed for jack or we would still be stuck in T9, i am the only one in my group that have it. But it is a mega lack of respect from SE to do this move to who spend that amount of time into something that have barely no use.
