2.4 Main Story Revilations *SPOILERS*

• Aparently non-Ishgardian can obtain a bit of status; Lucia (the 'taciturn knight' that is Aymeric his right hand) is apparently not of Ishgardian birth.

I'd like to speculate that Lucia is of Garlean (perhaps pure-blood?) birth - her hair colour and the circlet she wears across her forehead looked suspicious to me... But, alas, she could simply be Hyur!

It's possible they since retconned this but in the original 1.0 opening cinematic you actually see Ifrit, Titan and a whole host of other unidentified primals escape from Silvertear when the seal was broken.

I know of that scene from the original cinematic. And I think the subsequent explanation about Midgardsormr's role came from the Waning of the Sixth Sun bonus disc in the collector's edition. I'll have to check.

I thought she was elezen at first, until the camera zoomed in on her when her name was revealed. It was only then that I noticed she did not have pointy ears.

She's probably hyur, but of highlander stock, given her stature.

And let me add that she's stunning. So is Moenbryda (femroe lovers are probably rejoicing as I type). Kudos to the designers! Lucia and Moenbryda are worthy additions to the cast.


P/S: I'm especially amused that I'm not the only one who thinks Alphinaud looks like a girl. Ahh, adrogyny, how you deeply you plague JRPGs so.

I, too, thought she was Elezen - didn't notice her ears until mentioned. I don't think she's any kind of Hyur. From what I remember of her, the proportions just don't match up, even for a Highlander.

This is interesting. Does anyone have a screenshot of her handy? I'm at work right now, unfortunately, so I don't have access myself and wouldn't mind analyzing her a bit before driving myself mad with plot speculation.

I'm now wondering if the big event that has been mentioned before that leads into the expansion, will be the ressurection of mid.
Originally I thought they might of pulled off alexander being unleashed by Ishgard to deal with bahamut but the 2.4 story has made me think otherwise since they refuse to deal with anything outside their own borders.

Lucia is definitely Garlean, but what is her intent among the Ishgardians? Aylmeric has to know where she's come from, and still he trusts her... Interesting indeed.

Lucia may be half-elezen. Hence her unusual proportions, and apparent hyur features.

There have been hints that mixed-race characters may be introduced. She may well be the first of them.

Hmm.. It's surely possible.

...but that hair...those eyes...the fact that she's hiding her forehead...aaand the fact that every other pure-blood Garlean is also an Elezen with a Highlander-esque head ('cept for Cid, they just stretched his face out a bit).

Agreed. and I thought she was Highlander as well, based on the ears, but mixed race is very likely to.

But, my predictions for 2.5 based on what 2,4 gave is that we will find out that an Ascian is pulling Ishgards strings and that we will use the white thingy to destroy the Ascian, veil will be lifted, Ishgard joins Eorzean alliance and 3.0 we are able to enter Ishgard.

Instead of fighting a primal in the main scenario, like King Mog, Leviathan, Ramuh and Shiva. I've a feeling the 8 person fight will be the Ascian in 2.5 for the main scenario,
