Communication should always be key but, sadly, such is not the case. A party leader should ask if anyone wants to do a dungeon/raid/trial/guildhest run before signing up for the Duty Finder.

Also, keep in mind that this feature never would have been needed if some people didn't behave like selfish brats. Remember, it's those people whom have ruined it for everyone else.

Well, aside from in-progress queue fishing, there IS one other situation the penalty is designed to prevent: Trolling. I know of occasions in which a tank or healer would spam the queue and withdraw, just to dick with people. Obviously, a fully-formed party isn't going to be able to troll anyone this way, but a partially formed party could.

The penalty system is a good one, and a stiff reminder to in-progress fishers that the Roulette system is not in place to benefit them, but rather the parties that they help to fill. They are being paid in bonus gil and tomestones to help a party out, and if the "employer" wants them to complete a full run, that's what they gotta do to earn their pay.

It's also on SE for implementing a very mediocre solution to the problem.

The entire system is just messed up. Hopefully they'll just come back on this choice and remove it soon. Simply add a join in party only filter instead to stop the need for people fishing in progress queues instead.
