Less Dress Gear in this game maybe?

What I don't want: wide variance in the appearance of a piece of equipment between genders.

What I'm okay with: way less flowy, capey, skirty stuff.

I wear the Sentinel set on my paladin for this very reason... it covers me from head to toes in functional mythril armor, and doesn't have extraneous bits to get sucked into jet engines or revolving doors.

I hate how this game keeps making mages look like a nun.

I play mages in every MMOs and they all have good-looking gears, except for FFXIV.

This thread is kind of silly. No sillier than most of the other "waiting for patch" threads, but really.... I guess the OP has never played certain other MMOs where robes, skirts, and long coats are the norm for both genders. It's all common fantasy fare, especially for wizardly and priestly types, and unlikely to change.

I know they are normal in fantasy mmorpg. But it just nice to see if it look different on both gender, and more variety of the gear we get right now then just make all tank gear trend coat.

Just like how the Soldiery look bad on Tank Female because of the six packs and how bulky it is.

I guess that's fair I can always support more variety.

You know, though, that most game artists' idea of making gear differ by gender is to give women bare midriffs and cleavage windows/sideboob/underboob on any given outfit, so results can be a little mixed even if the intention is good lol.

Especially as a Tank, why do every of our Armor are dress like? They look good on Female, but not so much on Male Characters. Are they doing this so they don't have to re-work the armors for both Male and Female? Personally, I would like different variety, even change the look of what it look like on Male and Female. Other MMORPG do this, it add more unique to the gears.

Tank Armor beside Artifacts have all been Dress Like Gears. I don't know, but it would be great to get different variety of gears in the future. I'm tired of seeing trend coat like Snow Gear in this game.

So far, the only less dress like are Artifact Gears and some crafting gears. Also, more Gear like FFXI please

On a more serious note. The armors we've been unearthing and reforging mostly come from one culture. The Allagan Empire, it makes sense that there would be similarities among the sets, while still having obvious discrepancies because of the different ranks of the Allagan hierarchy.
