And there goes one iconic class butchered by the XIV team....
Truly disappointed in it being a tank.

A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.
A class that has for the longest time been an offensive powerhouse that uses its own HP to augment its offensive powers has been relegated to the role of tank, a role that really shouldnt be using its own HP to augment its offensive powers.
Yeah, i would say that it has been butchered quite thoroughly. :P
Well said offensive powerhouse was also the evil version of Paladin in all of his appearances. Paladin is a tank. It makes sense that Dark Knight is a tank as well.A class that has for the longest time been an offensive powerhouse that uses its own HP to augment its offensive powers has been relegated to the role of tank, a role that really shouldnt be using its own HP to augment its offensive powers.

Question is: What will happen to the armory sistem now?
I can defiantly see where you're coming from, particularly since DRK's last MMO outing was as a damage dealer.A class that has for the longest time been an offensive powerhouse that uses its own HP to augment its offensive powers has been relegated to the role of tank, a role that really shouldnt be using its own HP to augment its offensive powers.

However, my view of it is like this: Dark Knight, like all Final Fantasy classes, is ever changing. In FFII it had high intelligence, stamina, HP, and a proficiently with lots of weapons (like a melee black magic user), FFIII had it using white magic (of all things!), FFIV had it being a damage dealer (but he only used swords and shields), in FFX-2 it was a damage dealer with debuffs (and protection against being debuffed).
From its history Dark Knight has been almost a little bit of everything, but often as players we're attracted to our favorite version of it, which is great, but that doesn't mean its the only version.

In FFIV there could be much speculation about what role Cecil played as DRK in the game. Are you only thinking about XI? If so, how is that classic? FFIV is the classic if anything.
nononono. you're wrong. There is only Final Fantasy XI in existence. Count it: zero. eleven. Fenrir has always been an Esper named in the very same breath with Bahamut.
