Agreed. The people who're struggling now will only be happy when they get a version that's basically a pushover. I understand that SE wants to make older coil turns more accessible to casual players by slamming the echo on it, but that's just a lazy way of doing it.
The problem with Coil is the lack of Duty Finder incentive.
FFXIV made Duty Finder into the best thing from level 1 to 50. It should've still been the best thing for Coil and content like it. Put exclusive items for using Duty Finder and it solves the lack of people using DF for Coil.
I am like many others who play this game to also enjoy a good story and dont like feeling left behind on content, but I dont want content to get easier just so I can breeze my way through story without learning important mechanics, that might teach you how to deal better with future mechanics. Good example for that is the BCoB Turn 2 were more and more people use enrage isntead of dealing with the mechanics of Allagan Rot debuff.
I feel that if they make things too easy it would hurt alot of people that say queue up in DF to expect maybe some good progress but end up with people who breezed through content and might expect it to be just as easy and enter content with that mindset.
Doing coil through the duty finder is literally the worst thing in the game. If you're lucky you can get decent groups through party finder, but duty finder is just terrible. I don't think adding more rewards would solve this problem, it would only attract more casual players. The players that clear coil are mainly the players that are in a Free Company and/or a static. Those players would never sign up for coil through the duty finder, even if the rewards were good. Just because they know that it's just THAT bad.The problem with Coil is the lack of Duty Finder incentive.

im all for non raiding players enjoying the coil story too. they can have a story coil for all I care. But that coil should barely have any of the normal coil+ mechanics, not be as punishing, AND should not reward anything but the enjoyment of the story.
because saying, "oh coil is too hard, we want to enjoy the story", then getting a story coil and now saying, "it's not fair, we want coil gear too", shouldn't be a cheese around.
Story coil should be like the story "HM" Primals. No insta death mechanics unless you enrage or do a simple mechanic totally wrong. (ex: levi convert and hurting king too much before killing minis). And with that, they are rewarded with the story and the option to do an increased difficulty. (EX Primals)
Lockout for normal and savage should be separate. If a team downed the entire final coil and wants to start on savage, it should have a separate lockout than the normal version. That's more incentive than a title....

I agree with keeping OHKO mechanics in Extremes and Savages. That's good. Though at the same time, I also think that releasing a savage variant of a raid soon after the standard version of the same raid would be good so that the hardcore elites can keep their bragging rights without suppressing us filthy casuals who can't get a group together to run something as effectively.
It seems punishing to folks who are incapable of getting a raid group together. Because if even a single person messes up, that can cause a wipe. The stakes for clearing a Coil turn can be extremely high and require teamwork and coordination on a very high level, something that only comes with being in the same group for an extended period of time.
Anyone who thinks Coil is too easy already should make a point of trying to run it on Duty Finder.

Hello! I live in Pakistan and play on a 4mb connection so naturally I suffer from latency issues (around 200ms on a good day but generally 250ms+) I love this game and I love raiding a lot but due to my job, I cannot give this game 8+ hours a day or something crazy like that unless it's a weekend. Still, with all the free time that I have, I like to read guides and watch videos of coil and try and burn all the mechanics in my brain and then when I actually raid with my static I get some first hand experience with all those mechanics I had read about in the guides and videos. Then comes the wipes, we wiped for days, we wiped for weeks but eventually we got the turns down one by one and it felt SO SO good, all that hard work and weeks of wiping instantly paid off. Seriously, the feeling of working for something and then getting results out of it is the reason I like to raid and the reason I like the current difficulty of coil, if all of that was handed to me on a silver platter, I would probably get bored of the game and quit!
I know that the whole process of looking for a static group or making your own and then learning the coil fights and getting them down takes a lot of time but start working for it little by little and you will eventually get there sooner than you think and that sense of achievement is really something that would make you feel proud!

I think you're saying that until they do add really good rewards for it. At the very least this would get what I could normal players to party through DF, we don't need the hardcore or the casuals. We just need more normal players like myself to be incentivised to use DF.
PS The term casual gets used by the hardcore way too generally. You can't term really good players who don't care/can't form statics casuals when their skills and dedication are actually really high.
