Except it's NOT that simple as there are going to be cash shop exclusives. So it's either pay up or miss out. Why should anyone miss out on items when they're already paying a monthly subscription?
Miss out on what? A pet? Oh man, that's really going to hinder my playstyle. I'll never clear coil now.
... That also could be a rare drop in game so it would be something to work towards, and sell it on the Marketboards to try to make some gil. Everything including glamour stuff has a purpose within the game, economics is apart of it. Remember Bluebird? How hard it is to get it, and when you finally got it, you knew deep inside that you will be soon net 300k-2 mil.
Well last I checked, Bluebird is still in the game. It's also not in the Cash Shop. Seems like you can still get that "good feeling" if you get one.... Cash Shop exclusives shouldn't be considered as lost potential. Just pretend like they never would have existed without the Cash Shop, because they probably wouldn't have.
That Odin Mount? Yeah that should be in the game as a drop for the Odin Fight ( when ever it comes.) Not as an exclusive item. I have zero problem with Seasonal items on the cash shop, but the Odin mount? The Wind up dolls? I see it those as lost potential of what could have been rare drops and make the economics part of the game better.
This shouldn't be a regular thing happening. Odin Mount? a it's fine it's only 1, How about a Dragon Mount? ah it's okay it's only for show anyways. and the trend continues to not use those mounts ( or wind-up dolls) as potential buy products in FFXIV. It is Wasted potential.
That's how I see it anyways. Take it as you will.
Lol what? The very first major cash shop exclusive is the Sleipnir mount which ALREADY existed in the game. So forgive us if we all assume cash shop exclusives are 'lost potential' because the very first one is precisely that. Seriously are you so blind that you can't see they are CUTTING CONTENT to go into the cash shop?Well last I checked, Bluebird is still in the game. It's also not in the Cash Shop. If you want to give SE extra money go ahead and buy shares, just don't drag us down into your unhealthy worship of a business by forcing the rest of us to swallow your cash shop crap.
Would be a good argument if the first thing they are releasing on the cash shop wasn't a mount that has existed in the game since atleast 2 months before FFXIV was released: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/blog/000062.htmlWell last I checked, Bluebird is still in the game. Looking back at what people were thinking http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/62568Would be a good argument if the first thing they are releasing on the cash shop wasn't a mount that has existed in the game since atleast 2 months before FFXIV was released: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/blog/000062.html
I dunno, I think it'd make Odin less special if everyone could ride around on his horse.
