You make a very valid point, It was a bit dreary and lonely but still, I miss the privacy and a place to call home. It would be cool if you could not only invite your friends/party inside but host events or play games, poker, battle ship anyone? or even better, triple triad maybe? (even though I never played triple triad, just a suggestion). There are so many cool directions they can go with this. How about picking or earning cool housing locations? Having tool benches for alchemy, blacksmithing ect, to hold you supplies or refrigerators to keep all you cooking ingredients in. I miss growing plants in flower pots, I was a big time gardener in XI. This is the next gen FF, they should have all the bells and whistle's, once they work out the kinks of the last dev teams miserable failure of a game of course.

Took 6 FFs to perfect the oldschool RPG formula.
Bring back moghouses, better than in XI.
I've been homeless for 6 months now. I sleep under my retainer's stand and tell them to act natural when the police come by.
You realize you can still play FF XI right? Tell me why would Square want to turn FF XIV into FFXI-2 when they actually want to preserve both games.
They want to keep FFXI and it's user base with all the income it generates. Would it make any sense to make FF XIV have all the same features as FFXI? Sorry for posting negative comments but all i see is comments like "turn this into FFXI-2" .... if all you people want FFXI then go play it. Don't come trying to shove your FFXI-2 wet dreams down people throats, especially when they are trying to move forward with a brand new experience .... not go backwards.
The main reason it was lonely was because it was totally instanced. You didn't have neighbours, a view, etc.You make a very valid point, It was a bit dreary and lonely. Other games allow you to physically build your house anywhere you want in the game world, providing its flat land. FFXI didn't even let you choose the shape of your mog house or the colour of your walls etc.
I understand this is SE and they hate freedom so we'll never see something so interesting in FFXIV, but some kind of happy compromise such as an instanced zone with tree-lined streets and neighbours or something would be ok.

LOL wow did I call this out in my first post or what?
Anyways, maybe the people would rather have and ffxi-2, xiv failed dude. "not go backwards"? how is improving on a past success going backwards. Did supermario galaxy 2 improve from the first one? Didnt terminator 2 rock way more then the first? I understand you point about keeping its user base but why not build off it to make the new better?
Nobody is jamming things down anyones throat, we simply are just making suggestions. Peace!

You have my vote on that. I think we are on to somethingThe main reason it was lonely was because it was totally instanced. You didn't have neighbours, a view, etc.

You mean a MMO with around 500 000 players that only appeal to a niche market is a past success and thus making FF XIV into FF XI-2 will turn it instantly into a world wide success with million upon millions of players? Damn, WOW would be doomed if SE had you as their director...LOL wow did I call this out in my first post or what?
