And last I checked Final Fantasy XIV makes so much money it helped Square Enix turn around $130m loses into $40m profit in 1 year. It's greed. Plain and simple. Slepnir was going to be a drop from Odin, very likely. They decided to cut it out of the game and sell it on the shop for more money.
