If they had put Savage on a seperate lockout then I think numbers attempting it would have been much higher, same lock out puts off a lot of players.
If that's the case then you should have no problem getting 7 other people from the "majoority" to attempt coil once or twice a week. You can make a Linkshell to invite people to join after trying PF and finding some who want to progress, and before you know it, you have a full party, Discuss times each week everyone can run. Job done.
Just takes something many seem to forgotten exist, initiative, instead of waiting for others to cater to you, be pro-active and do something for yourself. It's how I did it.
We also have too many players who are too impatient to actually learn also. AS in majority of cases, the ones who rage the most are the ones who mess up the most too and don't take advice.

The issue for me is that SE create a trailer to entice customers and mark the beginning of the reconstruction period for FFXIV which gives a potentially amazing storyline. On release, the main story is somewhat half-assed, based around weak primals and running around being a mule. The actual good storyline is locked behind content that only around 5% of the games population can complete.
If they are going to sell their game around Bahamut destroying the land and then being trapped in the coils then at least make that storyline accessible to everyone rather than saying "wait 6 months until we nerd it, but even then you probably won't be able to beat the last turn". It's a very odd strategy.
I'd be all for a Story Mode version of Coil that you can progress through just for the sake of story line. But there should be no rewards for beating that version, be that items or titles or achievements. It then leaves the standard version available for getting gear and being able to tackle older content.
But I wouldn't add in SM Coil in the same patch as the standard version. There needs to be some drive to doing the actual difficult content. What would be needed, to add in both SM and HM coil (maybe even Savage mode) in the same patch is content that the gear you acquire lets you attempt. Just like how SCoB gearing/getting i110 can let you try out Savage. Savage, too, needs something special to show for it other than just titles.
Ultimately, though, I have no issues having story being locked behind content. I'd rather content be meaningful and provide an incentive to tackle it and overcome the challenge than just be handed story and then have irrelevant content.
but T5 is not hard once you learn it to begin with ......
Like really it's because of such things Ak was nerfed twice, Phaeros Sirious used to be harder as well
Reason why there is linkshells and Free companies out there is to help players out to progress.
Coil is fine as is and like others mentioned there is echo . If you have tried hm Primals even before echo then maybe i can see
It is accessible to everyone, theres only yourself stopping you from putting some effort in finding or creating a party for it.If they are going to sell their game around Bahamut destroying the land and then being trapped in the coils then at least make that storyline accessible to everyone rather than saying "wait 6 months until we nerd it, but even then you probably won't be able to beat the last turn". If posters put as much effort into pro-actively trying to organise parties for coil as they do on the forums we wouldn't see these kinds of posts.
Not to mention developing patience and realise that it takes some time to learn the encounters, after that, they are pretty easy.
It takes 30-60 secs to type a post on here and days, even weeks of work completing coil. I personally was really looking forward to XIV after seeing the trailer, and it is a good game, but not a game I want to waste my life on just to see the end of the story. It is accessible to everyone, theres only yourself stopping you from putting some effort in finding or creating a party for it.

None of my rl friends would find XIV fun or appealing so they don't play it, and the majority of my friends in game are in statics that have no room for new members. The vast majority of statics looking for members need experienced players which if you haven't already had a static you don't have. It is a vicious cycle that should not be so strict considering it's the only good storyline present in the game (imo), and the reason for all this is because the difficulty is so high.
Personally I would much prefer CT to be the hardest raid and coil to be CT's current difficulty. Anyone can enter CT and clear it, but it is a challenge for the first time and fun learning the tactics etc. Allagan gear would fit into CT just as much if not more than it fits into coil. The CT gear wouldn't fit into coil however.

It takes about 4-6 hours of progression to take down t6.
t7 takes roughly 12-14 hours with a completely fresh i93ish team of average joes to take down.
t8 is even shorter, if you can figure out a tower strat that works and get tethers sorted out.
t9 can be learned and downed within 1 weekend.
Stop crying about how hard the game is, WoW has 50 tiers for you if it hurts you too much.
Didn't SE just give everyone four gold stars or something?
God forbid making connections with like-minded and skilled players in an MMORPG.

I like this idea. Give casual players a way to get the full story without giving them the same gear or items if you were to do regular coil. Imo, if SE goes down the path where everyone can get the same high tier raiding gear so easily...I feel that will be it's downfall. This was one of the many reasons why I left Wow and many other people I know. I remember when raiding gear in wow used to look so epic because only the people who pushed to beat the raids actually got it and it was rare to see. Now it's handed out like candy. I say keep the regular coil content but give players a chance to see the full story, without giving them the coil gear or at least making it not so easy to get it. Echo is fine, I just don't want it to get easier than that....
Not crying at all, I just don't play. I'm disappointed in a game and while the subject is at hand I thought I'd make my comment, welcome to the forums.
That's all I have to say on the matter. God forbid I actually like a decent story and don't want to devote my life to hearing that story!
