    It all depends on how long they take with progression, longer it takes, the more drops they get. Plus token gear from tomestones you cap each week.

    Very, very few cleared turn 9 before spending weeks gearing up before clearing it.

    Also one persons quote does not apply to everyone. I'll agree after a full clear reasons to keep running it is loot but also fun, doing coil with friends each week is fun for me. But first time to clear is based on beating the challenge and seeing the story to many people also.

    As someone who plays the game mostly for the lore, this sounds great! I always think there should be a balance of theses things, a lighter mode for those who just want to experience the story and a harder version with gear rewards etc for those playing for a challenge.

    I don't see how anyone loses in this scenario. So, I'm all for it. This is great for those that care little for the best gear and the hardest battles but care a lot for seeing all that the story has to offer. This is the way things should always be done, there's no point in gating story behind the hardest content in the game.

    Neither. You want a challenge, loot, and story? Do regular Coil when it's relevant. Just want story? Do easy coil when it's old news.

    I like the system they had: Nerf previous coil when a new one come out. It seems like a waste of space to have coil SM and have it be largely ignored ala Leviathan/Ramuh/Shiva HM.

    Hopefully story mode coil will provide adequate tome to keep interest.

    No offense but, I think it should just be some cut scenes, or some history told by an NPC. You shouldn't fight nor get a reward. There's no guarantee that they can make it so easy to clear whilst adding rewards and somehow not being exploitable.

    I'm inclined to say that its shouldn't be needed and just takes up extra space. Echo and learning a few mechanics shouldn't be too hard of a challenge, especially if it goes up to 20% again. Usually, all the cutscenes are posted on YouTube or something a few weeks after the content is released, so again, its wasted space on the game for a trivial demand.

    The very least compromise I'd accept would be that Story Moders should have to wait until the content is irrelevant. (i.e. Six month later, at the next installment.) Because the difficulty of the end-game dungeon to find out the depth of the story feels like a rewarding process and the last thing I'd want to see is a bunch of people spamming social media with spoilers they did nothing to deserve. Sorry, but that's just the way it goes when its supposed to be end-game content. Its not story-mode, and its not mandatory for anything in the expansion.

    If you really cared about lore, you'd want to experience the game the way its meant to be, not want a walk-through and complain you're bored once you've gone through the story a day after the update has been released. Being anti-social and wanting to solo the game isn't an excuse for the developers to cater to you. Take initiative, challenge the content, get the rewards, and feel good about it whenever you finally triumph over what are supposed to be extremely powerful enemies. A good game should make you feel good as a player whenever you accomplish something; not hand you all the answers and give you a mediocre, "Woohoo."

    EDIT: I kind of like the idea in the post above mine too. If they implemented a simple text-based alternative, in like a library of chronicles or something with Urianger, (again, after the content is irrelevant), basically saying, "A raiding group went on an expedition into this Coil and found this, then this happened." Idk, it just feels like a bad idea for the experiences to be shared with one side having to put forth effort to see it and the other side simply able to watch right to the end.
