    This, for me what I'm most excited about with the final coil is finding out how the story draws to a conclusion. The gear is just to help you to see the story unfold.

    Adding in conjunction is a bad idea, as SE should be promoting players to participate in Coil while it's relevant, adding when Coil is no longer relevant, no problems with that. eg adding Coil 1 story mode in 2.4. Coil 2 story mode in 2.5 and the final part in 3.0.

    Coil Story Mode most likely won't be released until 3.0 anyways.

    As of now people are only guessing why they decided to introduce Coil Story Mode.

    As for me I'm only assuming it is because of Bahamut and their plan to have Bahamut involed in a future Main Story Scenario that we won't understand unless we go through Binding Coil of Bahamut story and how Ascians did hint in 2.0 ending their plan is to bring back Bahamut so they can advance their plan to summon Zodiark.

    or

    maybe the new endgame dungeon in 3.0 may require players to complete Final Coil of Bahamut. However, that also only a guess.

    That's a fat lie and you should feel bad for lying, you can say you are excited about the story the first time you clear, but saying you only care for the story wouldn't explain why you do it more than often.

    And another lie is "most of us", with this I agree with Exstal.

    If they removed the story altogether and placed it someone else, only a very small percentage of raiders would give a damn.

    I am not against a story mode for coil, but will it matter for players that have just started or started when it came out? What importance will the story hold for this that did not invest hours into 1.0. We watched our world be destroyed by a primal too powerful for any one to handle. Yet here we stand, awaiting the final coil, and it is our primary mission to find out why we are here today.
    When you start the game the first thing you see is the end of an era CGI, are you really asking why it matters for someone who didn't play 1.0?

    Gear has nothing to do with story, you post doesn't make any sense. After you clear it the first time the next 2x times won't be to "help you see the story unfold", it will be to add to the vertical progression, the main point of end-game raids.

    I recall a LL that said FCoB won't be needed for the next end-game raid, it's the same that mentions the possible addition of Eureka as a side content, if you want to search

    A: Yes, I think we need to prepare something like this. Now, we are going to gradually lower the difficulty level, but with new patches coming out and new players coming in, we’re anticipating a time when there aren’t enough people to play through the dungeon, and we have to look into avoiding that situation. We’ve still got a ways to go before reaching that point, so it’s a little too early to set up anything concrete, but yes, I do feel we need something that lets people who can’t complete the Coil to experience the story.
    Show me the part that says "This is in development."

    He says that he thinks they should do this, and that if they do it is a long ways away. And he makes no mention of what "it" is. "Something that lets people who can't complete the Coil to experience the story" could be anything from simply opening up the cutscenes in the inn room to a special cutscene added to later story modes that recaps the Coil story.

    So, let's pump the breaks on the hype train a bit shall we?

    Well if you put a little thought into it before you posted, you get the gear to clear the turns, you clear the turns to see the story as well as get the lewt.

    But you need gear to clear the turns the first time, which you get from progression, clear first turn, run that whilst working on 2nd turn, clear 2nd turn, clear first 2 whilst working on third, and while you clear the previous turns each week you gear up more to help on the turn you are progressing on.

    Thats why those who like challenging content get much less than other content. Over a 6month period, accessible content has been 2 main scenarios with primals, 6 dungeons, 2 hildibrand scenarios, Housing, gardening, Beastman dailies, Crystal Tower, Relic chains (some parts take time but still are casual) For challenging there has been 2 extremes and 1 coil.

    Also when the next coil is released, the previous one gets echo and nerfs to mechanics, same with Extremes with echo making them more accessible, Not to menion removal of the lockout (which I may add, I'm all for those changes).

    See the difference?

    If they "listened to the minority" as you claim, then the dungeons would be much harder, there would be no Echo either.

    Most people only get a few pieces by the time they clear the last turn thanks to RNGezus/weekly loot restriction.

    Unless you don't touch the raid after clearing the last turn, I stand by what I said.

    (I will have to quote Exstal again, I think it was a good analogy)

    Gear is the cake. Story is the candles.

    The story is a nice addition, but is in no means the main goal, using your and any other player's actions as evidence.
