if that what you think the aim as a developer should be, then that explains a lot of your posts. From this patch, it feels like the game is in beta again, its not a horrible thing, but people need to be honest about the things that need work instead of blindly praising it, because its very rough and needs a lot of work.
They need real feedback not people white knighting every one who has legitimate concerns.
Yes Mages were kind of boring and didnt have much depth, no just taking away various aoe and increasing costs super drastically is not the answer.
Im saying while mp management is good, i dont think they should build mage gameplay around putting your weapon away and waiting for MP. add interesting strategies and skill management so people are actually making tactical descions that influence their gameplay, and give them real options other than waiting for tp or for weapon skills
the basic ability answer is bad, putting them on long cool downs does not make for a unique playstyle or effect. change some to stances, or lower the cool downs.
If your going to do AA, you need to balance the weapon damages a lot more, and probably rebalance them. Figure out how regular skill use is supposed to effect AA, and test and rebalance it.
Hopefully make balance changes fast, and often, it shouldnt take that long to alter some databases, or try something new, if we are going to be in a beta like state anyhow, take advantage of that and do changes often and respond to feedback.
Its needs to be tweaked, even if its going this direction, get feedback from people and adjust it slowly rather than taking so long everyone builds their whole playstyle off bad starting mechanics.
do not try to solve mp issues with a job specific refresh skill. Forcing people to only be able to do something with 3 specific jobs is not a good mechanic for anything that is supposed to be casual, or even balanced. They have with this patch made conjurer and gladiator indespensible, which lowers the value of all other jobs by comparison.
