I'm female and I prefer to play male alts, I'm more comfortable as one, and I like to make pretty males I can lust over, you also get less harassed. But it depends of games, in some games and MMOs I find the males ugly so I end up making females instead, like Age of Conan or Diablo 3 where solely the male wizard is handsome.
