A rank 49 getting a rank 50 item is hardly problematic, but yeah, an improved loot system would be nice.

just fyi that isnt the point at all, it was just the icing on the cake that he wasnt even the correct rank.
i wasnt there but there is no reason to not implement a proper loot system.
you have the wrong idea of what the OP is talking about.Im sure there is a roll system built in thats how it figures out who to give the item to. It just seems random cause we dont get to see the process. That being said I would like a better loot system.
a roll system is when they players themselves sort of "roll dice" by typing in /random
when you do that a random number will pop up and that is your number. its also how people decide the order in which people do things like who activates their dungeon run first.

I've already noticed going through Toto-Rak that if you happen to get a piece of gear from a treasure chest in the middle of the run, you either have the person it went to not notice or the group doesn't really have time in the dungeon to discuss who the gear should be going to.
A lot system would be much easier to figure out since your group can discuss rules on it beforehand.
