Two lines that invalidate anything you say. Ever.
No I won't be reading anything you'll say in the future. I will be blacklisting. Because "Nobody's holding a gun to my head forcing me to subject myself to such ignorance."
This is not FFXI. In FFXI, yes, the relic took a while, but was still useful. The ATMA version is already obsolete. With the rate at which they release new gear/raise the item lvl, it's silly to expect a quest to take a year. I understand they wanted a relic quest to take long than the original relic quest, which could be done in a day, but imo, they went to the other extreme. ATMA was just dumb. I don't care for the nexus grind either, but at least that is grinding level 50 content as opposed to grinding level 5 fates for atma. They won't make ATMA changes, I'm sure. Its not fair to all those who have already finished that phase. They didn't change things in FFXI, and you shouldn't hope that they would do it here. Its a RELIC Weapon, and you DO have other options (Alternative Weapons). Relics in FFXI takes much longer, and is not intended to be a rush.
The issue with atma isn't that it can take time but that it can take an extraordinarily long and indeterminate amount of time depending the RNG.
Novus and Nexus are time-consuming for the casual player; atma can be far, far more so if the player is unlucky, even if they farm hardcore.
as a current FFXI player, your statement is clearly wrong. While the amount of stuff needed for a FFXI Relic/Mythic didnt change, the mechanics to aquire them have been tremendously eased up, by allowing people to solo farm the currency/do assaults/etc and by putting them in on campaign weeks where different BCs drop additional stuff. So the dev team does change the progression rate either directly or indirectly, by lessening the amount needed to participate in content, or by adding the same drops to other content. It only doesnt apply to Empyrean weapons after the lvl 90 trials. They won't make ATMA changes, I'm sure. Its not fair to all those who have already finished that phase. I'm still on my ATMA after 5 months on and off. Still, this is to be expected. If they DID change this, SE would probably get reported to the BBB, due to backlash of so many others who finished ATMA prior. **Laff*
But seriously when the 2.2 comes if you din't stand the atma quest to get the atma weapon even if it take 40 hours, there no way to like the animus/novus or nexus step, it's more intersting to do than fate ? yeah ok, but it still repetitive and long no brain farm .
you can call it crazy because it's realy that XD, if you wait you can get a weapon easier, when the 2.4 will come out it will be a choice for a crazy farm to uppgrade nexus to another step or do shiva and get a ilevel115 weapon, and wait 2.5 to have a easier way to get a ilevel120 to 130 weapon.
There is not realy a point to do the relic upgrade exept for hardcore farmer XD
I'm thinking you missed the point about the lack of any visual or observed progress in the Atma quest. But seriously when the 2.2 comes if you din't stand the atma quest to get the atma weapon even if it take 40 hours, there no way to like the animus/novus or nexus step, it's more intersting to do than fate ? yeah ok, but it still repetitive and long no brain farm .

When you're doing your Novus or Nexus, you have visible and observable progress. You're grinding items or currency to progress to the next stage. Every aspect of the process shows progress. The Atma questline, however, does not. The only progress you have to judge by is the actual atma piece. Whether you got that piece in 4 minutes or 4 months is only a matter of RNG. Nothing you do affects it.
People are typically content with a time-sink, however, an indeterminate time-sink with no observable progress that's entirely ruled by RNG is typically hated by all.
This is nearly as bad as Path of Exile's crafting system.
i have done fates for 15 hours now and have 1 atma... yeah at this rate i would finish a relic faster in FFXI by doing dynamis every day for 2 hours and be finished with a relic there in 3 months. I dont mind repetitiv stuff as long as I see progression towards its. The RNG is annoying, but it would be less annoying if atmas would drop from something else then only fates. add them to douty roulette, ex primals, hardmode primals, exp dungeon and hardmode dungeon, with the same randomness. At least then i can flavour up the task a bit.
Or at least change up the drop chances. Example, in East Shroud have a higher drop chance for the Lazy Laurence fate. "World boss" style fates at a minimum should have a better chance of dropping because they are a much bigger pain to beat.
Finally got final ATMA on Monday night. I started in April but took the summer off from ATMAS. It took an estimated 1000 fates to complete all ATMAS in the end as I used the 5th achievement for fates as a counter. I got the Paragon Robe and 11th ATMA Sunday night. Good luck to those still in the hunt.
I'm going to be crazy Atmas of SCALES and MAIDEN never drop.
It's absurd that we need to run like psychopaths for all Central Shroud or otherwise stay for 5 minuets without doing nothing in Central Thanalan
