What is the difference between grinding in exp parties and grinding instances in other games? What else is there? Grinding repeat "kill x amount of this mob" quests? No thanks.

Leves are not that bad, people just don't understand them yet. I'm getting 3-5k SP per Levequest and finishing them in under 10 min solo. That's pretty much a full load of leves in about an hour for around 30k SP. To me that is about what it was before I stopped playing a couple months ago.

To whoever said 1500SP per kill I don't even know what to say about that. Alpha, Beta and Retail I have never heard of anything even close to that. Maybe it's a 35+ thing? I always thought there was a 400SP cap per mob. I must be mistaken...

You realize thats only 30k SP through leves every 36 hours, right? Also, theres a HUGE difference between questing in other games (Even when its a 'Kill 10 of X' quest) and grinding in FFXIV. For one, in FFXIV you generally would stay in one location, kill the exact same enemy the entire day, and not even have a drop of storyline to accompany it. Not to mention it just flat out takes longer than almost all modern MMOs.

Well if this is directed to me, if i recall correctly the Patch 1.19 was promised this summer, and the development of patch 1.18 was developed in a 1-2month span.

On a side note LL leve's seem to give bigger bonus on exp on finish and so does grid. Also putting it on 2 stars solo is fine just try for under 5 mins if you can so you get the big bonus, but under 7 min's still gives an bonus so that's fine too.

Hope this helps a little~ Also ill try to do some 40 leve's tomorrow and get some data for that.

It's not even slightly hinted. It says it clear as day in the patch notes as the very first point under regional levequests. I've been doing all of my R20s at 3 stars and still getting them done in under 10m, so 2 stars is not required.

Skill points are now awarded upon levequest completion.
Additional points will be awarded for early completion of quest objectives.

Personally I would rather stay in one spot than run here, then run there, then run back to here. All the while reading retarded quest dialogues that I really don't care about. But that's just me I guess.

And yes, I do realize that, which is about as frequently as I play. You know, work, life yada yada that everyone shpiels. I only did 3 leves, grand companies quest and a little grinding and it felt like I made more progress than I did before in the same amount of time.

I'm not defending anything here. I was just saying it's not as bad as people are making it out to be.

I posted it up a little higher. I'm getting between 3 & 5K per leve. I don't know if I finished any under 5 but probably under 7 for one of them. Bonus has been between 1500-1800. Also I failed big time on my first one not realizing my gear was damaged. Had 4 min left and the bonus on that was 750 at the end.

It's just a different system. People will figure out how to exploit it eventually.

I get less SP from leves, this is true.

However I also haven't gotten used to the CON/THM changes yet and haven't partied up for them either. There's also more ways to gain SP for DoW/DoM now (Dungeons and quests) and I've noticed better SP gains off mob grinding (150-300 per mob as opposed to 120 every mob prior to the patch).

I don't think it's too bad. I ranked up twice today in the 2 hours I played by doing leves and grinding :3
