Again you've completely missed the point. I know the summons have been in previous games in the series. My point was XIV took the exact entire set of elemental summons from XI. Come on, you can't have overlooked the fact that tons of things from XI were copied directly into XIV. Most of the common enemy models are the same, the races are the same with new names, the primals = the avatars. When SE chose to copy directly like that they set an expectation that other things might receive the same treatment. That is why people are disappointed. Fenrir and Diabolos were very important in XI but here they're just one-off bosses that you'll defeat and then forget about as they're inconsequential to the story. It's disappointing.

No, you simply have expectations you should never have had in the first place. So they copied some features directly from XI. Well they also didn't copy many things from XI at the same time. The idea that because the elemental avatars were the same therefore the elder primals should be the same holds no water. The elemental primals being the same only means the elemental primals were the same. Nothing more. Nothing less. Anything beyond what's right in front of you was an assumption. A reasonable assumption yes, but still an assumption. If you want to be disappointed then you should be disappointed with your own assumption based expectations.

In addition to all the assumptions. People are also assuming he isn't an elder primal. There is literally nothing that states a dungeon boss is A) already at their full power and B) can't return some day in the future. Keep in mind they already told us the Kraken would return someday and we never killed him. Nothing stops this from being a weaker aspect of fenrir, or fenrir himself just not at full power, or any number of possible options including him being a elder primal. So many assumptions.
