mage aint for you go DD

if it has a MP pool and a Cure spell your a WHM no way around it

In regards to mana costs....unless I'm not understanding correctly, the ability to cast in passive will allow you to regen mana during battle. (This is where you chime in and say 'who wants to stay in passive and watch combat' and me being a positive as a hookers pregnancy test says 'Roll an active class')
    defeats the purpose

Yeah, and separation of cure and aoe cure pisses me off. I had to remove all tactical abilities from my bar to make room for the shitton of different but same spells. Casting the proper cure on the proper people on the fly is a pain in the ass Where two cure spells on my bar did the trick, now I need 4. And there's nothing to do but stand around and try to figure out which of my many cure spells should be cast on whom, and that encompasses the entirety of my party experience post 1:18.

Clunky and broken =/= a challenge.

For example, if I'm a biker looking for a more challenging trail to ride on... I want to get off the kiddy trail with my rad bike... Not have someone come along and break my bike to shit so now its a "challenge" to ride the kiddy trail with it.

At least MP regen has been boosted while in passive. Only problem i have is why the tier II nukes still cost only 20MP while healing spells cost a bit more. If anything, bring the MP cost for Tier II nukes up a bit. The goal here is to be able to run out of MP. trollolol

Whenever I get stuck as Healer wether I be THM or CON IM gonna ration my MP so much.

I managed to get into a Raptor party today as a THM, at least on Wutai they're still wanted, I enforced a strict 1 heal per person per fight unless you near death even though i had 1370MP. Thankfully my party was understantable but I know not all will be like that. Basically as a THM...Im fucked when it comes to parties unless I get a friend to sort of smuggle me in.

ya know, Dusted off my r30 thm today to run toto rak. I nuked, I healed, I debuffed, and as the only mage to boot. Only times we got into serious trouble with the djigga groups. (Seriously after this amount of time people still cant make the connection between there mortal mist use and player weapons skills) all on a mp pool in the 600 range.

I'm not saying any thing one way or the other. And i realize toto-rak might not exactly be a litmus test for mage efficiency. But if a meat headed Marauder can manage this, don't know what it says about the people who have extensive time logged as dom with the appropriate stat builds.

THM wasn't the one that had their cure MP mangled. And they weren't the ones given so many different but same cures so its a pain in the ass to manage them. Plus Toto-Rak at R30 is HARDLY to be considered anywhere NEAR a challenge. Especially when you were probably curing R50 folk who were barely getting hurt in the first place. Try running as R50 CON through Darkhold and you'll get the point.

I am just a bit over 10 now. Came back 3 days ago on the news of the patch. From my perspective the game just went to almost unplayable if you want to be a caster or a healer. I love playing healers but I haven't been able to do a solo difficulty leve today without dying once or twice. My mana only last about 3 linked mobs now being careful with my heals. From my perspective the game is no longer soloable, it is now group mandatory, even at the rank 10 camp. I guess I could switch to a melee class but I have never been much for choosing my class based on what is easy to level.

All the player that are QQ'in about MP cost are bad players who wants the "Watch Movie + Spam AoE Cure" back.

Play Properly for a while, if you struggle with keeping up MP, learn to conserve it.

This is an effect of what happens when you hold hands and let go.

Competent as your LS mages may be. That doesnt help with MP management. They will still run out regardless how well they are at the class. I personally play both mage classes, and the revisions to the spells imo was very overwhelming. I embrace a good challenge, and think MP management is very important, however the limited mp pool is a issue due to the very high mp consumption now. I suppose if we get (RDM) as a job, and that comes with the abilty of refresh, then i think the game balance will be more visiable. Right now the game is even worse than it was pre-patch. I do recall SE saying this will be the rawest version of auto-attack, and battle refinements. I will wait and play extremly casualy until the game reachs the level of considerable satisfaction. Right now the game is slowly getting on its legs, but i can see us losing more people due to the limitations, and mp consumption. We need a stronger player base, and not keep losing (Future paying customers). All and all the game has much to improve on, and this patch imo wasnt a good direction for the game. Hopefully things will get better. I am assuming patch 1.20 when we get jobs the game will start to come alive, and people will see what directon Yoshi has in store for us, and ffxiv. /Cheers
