People kicking new players for watching cs's.....just stupid.

I also just wanna say, I play WoW, and never played XI, have played WoW for going on about 5 years, and I have zero problem waiting for people to watch their cutscenes if they wish to, my entire FC came from WoW as well, and they're all the same, we always offer to let new players watch and stuff, so it's not a "WoW mentality" as much as just being a shitty person, not everyone from WoW is an impatiant asshole, self-entitled dick, there's just as many people that have that personality archetype that came from XI as well, I'm sure

You are a needle in a haystack, my friend. B/c every jerk I've met on this game, like these players who are assholes, 90% of the time they self proclaim that they are WoW players. That is why I lable it a WoW mentality.

Today I had a group who let me watch them [the cutscenes] and actually encouraged me too, so their is definitely hope for the community, this community is usually one of the nicest in the entire MMO world.

That being said, not every player you meet is going to be nice about it and I think that's very unfortunate. I love the cutscenes and will make it a point to allow every new player to view them for the group I'm in.

When ARR was new in early 2.0 stage, we just had iLvL 55 gear and were collecting the iLvL 70 darklight gear with weekly lockout because stonecap...
Indeed at that time when "all" just had around iLvL 55 the time to clear castrum (with ultima) was a challenge because the cutscenes were taking too many time and we could not clear it when watching all till end...
It wasnt because we wiped, but we did not have the damage output to burn the bosses within 5 minutes! Nowadays we burn it in less than 1 minute, thanks to new gear...

CM and Prae have more than enough time allowed. Even when clearing back with story gear there was enough time to spare.

It goes both ways. All I have to say to either party is use the tool you've been provided with and make a Party Finder.

Your silly first post is what warranted the attack. Quit acting like you have blinders on because YOU ALREADY KNOW, PF'ing Prae or CM will TAKE HOURS to fill that party... IF... you can actually fill the party.

Honestly,booting people or raging at people for watching cutscenes is bad, and it needs to be handled.

While I agree that having to skip cutscenes is annoying, it's also rude NOT to skip them when the majority of the party wants you to.

Some people here are asking "Why don't YOU use PF to setup a party where cutscenes are skipped?" - well, here's why: the majority of players, in any given group, prefer to skip / are skipping, since the majority of players are not first-timers.
This is all the reason you guys need - majority wins, and this is also why kicking people actuall works.

Get over it and watch them at the inn - you are not more entitled than players who want to run content quickly.

Honestly, no, you are wrong. People are doing a STORY DRIVEN MISSION and expect people to SKIP the content? Get real, IDC how fast you want to do them, there are OTHER ways to get that myth, and mind you, much faster.

You're right OP, it wasn't like this is 1.0.

The community was united, now, the exact opposite.

It's time people stood up for what is right and what is wrong in regards to how you act online.

This kind of trouble caused by speed runners happen too often. The system should just disable cutscene skipping when the 1st-timer bonus is being paid out. This a simple fix that can applied across the board on all dungeons/instances.

You know what that would cause? It would cause many, many players to stop even doing main scen roulette, so the new players end up queing for literally hours hoping to finish the main storyline. If they are forced to watch the cutscenes every single time.

So, you got to ask yourself. Which is the lesser of the evils: One the first run through of course, missing fights so you can watch the cutscenes (you can reque straight after to skip the CSs and take part in the fights), Skipping the CSs and watching them in the Inn, or spending hours queing for the dungeon to even complete the main story?

Hopefully SE have learnt from this that putting long cutscenes into party based farmable content is not a great idea XD Such abundance of cutscenes during one piece of content should be limited to single player content only.
