Probably not, but you're a great foil to the whole "but these other games don't give me problems" argument. The only part that really matters is where the servers are located, where you're located, and what the pipes between A and B look like.

One player playing two games can have lag in game A but not game B.
Meanwhile player two lives somewhere else and gets no lag in either game A or B.
Also meanwhile player three lives somewhere where game A and B both show lag.

It doesn't matter who made the server, who runs the server, or what the game is. The only thing that matters is location.
