I have been in the same situation - 23 weeks of clears on our FC spreadsheet, but this week I finally got my Healing Body *sighs softly and happily*

RNG, you are a fickle mistress :3

Reading this thread and talking to others on the forum, I have to say this loot system is hilariously bad and really needlessly frustrating.

People that farm a challenging boss for HALF A FRIGGIN YEAR, deserve to get their shinies. There is no way around that fact and the loot system should be fixed accordingly.

Fixing it would be really simple: award a currency that drops in Coil only and can't be used for anything else.
Set up a vendor for ALL coil items using said currency.
Only once you defeated a boss, you are eligible to buy its corresponding items.

Keep the RNG loot as is, so people can still gamble whether they want to spend their currency or hope for a drop.
Tune item prices to your development target.

Upon a new patch, this currency gets reset / converted to a non raiding currency so people can't hoard it for new bosses.

And other mmos do just fine in this regard, and its pretty silly that you need EVERY ITEM to be perfect from the get go, this just shows how entitled people are and personal traits that you cant even deal with that few items not being perfect, players in other mmos get by fine, so can you.

16 T9 kills, no tank body.
23(?) t8 kills, no casting gloves (the last piece I need)

    Don't feel bad.

    @Raelgun:
Yes very few people achieve true BiS and it isn't needed because encounters aren't tuned around BiS.
However in WoW you can get your Tier and a weapon very quickly once you defeat the bosses.
That way you're already 95% there and you look like a raider that does the newest and hardest content.

If the RNG hates you in this game, you run around like every other soldiery farmer. You don't even get to wear your raiding gear that you earned a dozen times over if you farm the bosses for 6 months.

It's a bad system, there is 0 logical reasoning you can bring in order to argue in it's favor and many people that want the high allagan look are simply screwed.

There are numerous easy to implement solutions, but the weird fixation on excessive RNG for everything prevents the DEVs from implementing any of them.

A token system is definitely needed for Coils. It may not be as bad right now, but when more jobs make it's way in and SE starts putting new weapons and armor to accommodate them, its going to be a mess and will take people much longer to see a drop they want. I know some who have beaten Turn 9 about 20+ times and still have not gotten their weapon yet. It is beyond ridiculous if you go 20+ times and you never see your weapon drop. They do need to do something that makes it feel like your time isn't a waste in there if you don't get anything. They just simply need to copy/paste WoW's token system and everything would be grand.

    RNG is great!

Thank you for the site. I decided to test it out, but in the scenario of where 10 groups go in each week, and the dice rolls for each win.

    Here are the results:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

I understand that 10 groups in 10 weeks isn't a very large sample size, but for the sake of RNG, I felt it was sufficient to prove a point that there is no 'bias' in the RNG.

As you can see, yes, side by side with one group followed by another, there are barely any 'in-rows' of duplicate items.

However, once you start going DOWN, there are definitely repeats.

Lets start with each individual group.

Group 1 got 3 bows and 3 casting breeches in succession. They also received 3 healing pants, but not in succession.
Group 2 had a rather balanced loot pool in terms of repeats in succession, but also received 3 healing pants and crooks.
Group 3 ...well, 7 blades in a row, and 8 in total. They also received 3 aiming bodies.
Group 4 obtained 3 spears and 3 heavy bodies in a row, on the same week. 5 total spears.
Group 5, along with 7, was probably THE most balanced loot pool in numbers.
Group 6 had 7 maiming belts, 4 in a row followed by 3 in a row. They also received 3 staffs.
Group 8 had 4 bows in a row and then 4 fending rings in a row.
Group 9 had 5 bows total, 3 in a row, as well as 5 total casting pants.
Group 10 obtained 6 MNK fists, 3 in a row, along with 5 casting pants, 3 in a row, and 3 SMN books.

And this was using an unbiased RNG according to the site.

I leave the results to speak for themselves, but for those crying RNG, it happens. There's no bias, and I don't think SE's RNG is broken either.

    Just some food for thought.

Only 2 groups out of 10 had a balanced loot pool. 2. Out of 10. Let that sink in.

This does not change the fact that it's a really Poor System for weekly lockout content.

If no lockouts and you can farm kills, sure RNG is fine, for the hardest boss that you can kill only once a week, for 1 weapon drop, it's lame.
