Again my post was because I was told that this is the best place to post it by the gm team via my email on the request for a quest reset and to note the problem I am getting with the crash to desktop.

I'm 100% certain he was not trolling you, it would appear you have a very specific form of OCD about this issue as anyone else if they didn't want to mess with crafting would just not craft. Going to the point of rerolling a character over and over to ensure it hasn't been "tainted" with anything related to crafting and gathering in this game is not something most people would do. I'm not trying to give you hell over it but you need to understand why people are perplexed as to why there is an issue.

Some suggestions:

1.) When the GM told you to post on the OF about this, s/he may have meant to post in the Bug report section. You might get more help with an issue like your game crashing when you try to turn in the quest there as opposed to the General Discussion section which is mainly browsed by regular players and only occasionally community managers.

2.) The reason someone may have told you that it requires you have a DoH leveled is that, to augment your Artifact armor, you need a certain mount of a certain crafted item. However, you don't actually need to have a DoH leveled to obtain these items - you only need to get the materials to create it and a friend can craft the items for you. Then you turn it in at the room on the right in Rowena's House of Splendors along with the Artifact piece you want augmented. It is rather time consuming to get the mats if you aren't already overloaded with old Philosophy mats, but it does look rather nice once you get it (the PLDs I've seen sporting the Soot Black AF set look A+).

3.) Though most people do appear to be trying to get your goat (I can understand why you feel that way, my boyfriend has OCD and a lot of people have trouble understanding how something seemingly small to them can be a huge deal to you) but people like TheRogueX aren't trying to troll you, they mean well and just don't convey their message in the best way. Unfortunately, as evidenced by your last thread requesting your DoH/DoL get reset, a lot of people you've encountered on the OF really are oblivious to how serious of a problem this is for you and I'm at least glad you know that they're in the wrong here.

If you can't resolve your issue with the quest, I'd suggest heading over to the Bug report section and seeing if you get more of a response there.

personal note I was never diagnosed with ocd I was diagnosed with schizophrenia ptsd anxiety bi polar for the record. I like things perfect no shame in it.

I assume this is either a bug with the quest or a bug with the client. The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to abandon the quest and do it again. If that doesn't solve the problem, then the best thing you can do is report it as a bug in the Bug Reports section (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/f...31-Bug-Reports) and hopefully it can be resolved there.

Also you're right that there's nothing wrong with liking things perfect. The comparison to OCD is just easier to communicate as it's a very similar situation to what someone with OCD would experience. Small problems to us can be big problems to you, and the solution to that is for us to be understanding that that's how you perceive it, not yell at you for something you can't simply change. Hope this gets resolved quickly for you and you can get back to adventuring in Eorzea!

Crash to desktop might also resulted from corrupted files? If your internet is decent, try uninstall the game, and reinstall it?

I will try that at a last resort, The error I get when I click on the npc after it opens the window up my screen blacks out and I get this error saying that my driver has stopped responding and has recovered. But I can log back in and play again.
