Haha since this suggestion didn't fly, I had created this one... effectively the same thing:

If people can't agree on a PvP server, zones, or wPvP in general... I think giving us Arena's is a fair compromise!

The suggestion of adding a Gurubashi Arena type spot was awesome.

^arguments like "it would make no sense lorewise" are ridiculous... sorry, but we can invent lore that makes sense for Frontlines, we can do it for friendly GC competition inside an arena. Bragging rights people.[/B]
No. No open world PvP. I personally -hate- pvp in all manners. You have so many other games you could play for pvp, so how about looking in to one of those?

The only "Duel" style PvP I can see added is if they open up the Blood Sands for 1v1 fights. Otherwise, yeah, sorry, lorewise, it doesn't make sense. Unless you're an enormous A hole or a bandit, you shouldn't be running around wanting to kill people.

^we don't kill people even in Frontlines. Sorry but you just invalidated yourself... read up your lore please before making a lore-based argument.

Anyway, I gave up on the idea of having entirely dedicated PVP Servers/Zones & moved on to isolating open-world PVP to designated Arena's.

Plenty of easily devised Lore/RP reasons to enable people to handle personal vendetta's or spar/train in an Arena.

This would have such a baby footprint in certain zones & completely unaffect you who hate PVP so no harm done.

Anyone remember the wilderness in runescape? Not only did it have dangerous beast and npcs but the players could also kill you and you lose your stuff

And yet we already have that in Wolves' Den. Why would we need more mini-Wolves' Dens unless you're referring to the arena in Ul'dah. I can see that, as many have, because it's, well, a gladiatorial arena. But again, dotting PvE zones with PvP instances just doesn't make sense except for the insecure to try and goad others into getting ganked.

    How every duel will go:

Sleep -> Stoneskin self / Heal if took damage -> Attack on you Stone 1 for Heavy -> Sleep and repeat ad nausiem till win.

Also run away and full heal.

Good luck trying to kill a Scholar/White Mage/Summoner solo.

    Read this: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...our-support%21

Wolves Den doesn't work because it's only 4v4 against strangers unless you're a dirty win-trader... the objective is to give us a venue to PVP freely without disrupting the PVE diehards who want nothing to do with it.

It wouldn't be Wolves Den, it would enable us to duel (in more formats than one too) & give us some PVP content in the open-world that wouldn't disrupt the PVE experience for others.

Fought plenty of isolated 1v1 encounters in Frontlines, I've killed plenty of healers solo with my MNK.

Additionally, I'd rather have the ability to duel than none at all... even if some matchup's aren't impeccably well-balanced.

There are more classes than WHM, so how would a duel DRG vs DRG play out?
Also in all duel implementation i have seen so far you can't run too far from the point where the duel started, otherwise it is a forfeit.

Personally I wouldn't mind if they add duels - outside of settlements.
And/Or Arenas in the cities - lorewise justified as training facilities - as long as they are not relevant for the mainstory progression

Wouldn't know. They would run at each other, trip over an enemy aoe and fall on their own polearms ;p
