An Open-World PvP Zone or Two

I remember a time when there were no PvP servers, just servers. The concept that PvE had segregated servers was absurd and there was no hiding on such a server from PvP. Filthy casuals ruined it for us PK's.

Aion and NCsoft would like to share a world with you.
Aion is the perfect example of a game which could have been a huge success, and lost tons of players with their PvEvP mixed servers.
A game working perfectly in Korea, was failing in NA because players were doing & exploting stuff neither devs nor other Korean players were doing for easy Abyss Points (perma rifting, glide & radar hacks, etc).

Ok the game had other problems like it's awful RNG (Fenris/Miragent pants anyone?) but if you went to the forums it was thread after thread of ppl asking for a PvE server or leaving the game because they were getting ganked 24/7.

It took a lot of time for NCsoft to realize how to fix that, they made some horrible fixes (rifting debuffs), game went F2P, and they finally made a PvE server and everyone happy.
I guess they learnt from those mistakes and that's why GW2 has PVP in specified areas only and Blade & Soul will have a flag system for open world PVP (you join a faction, you get a dobok, and if you equip it you auto-flag yourself for PVP vs the other factions).

I quit because I found it stupid to have to PVE for your PVP stuff (Abyss fort instances). . .but I heard they added arenas which was cool but I had already moved on. Also lots of people left because of Manastones and that Hot Heart of Magic lol. . .omg and enchanting. . .ugh disgusting. .

No idea....I was an Asmo, we never held any fort lol, so our only way to make AP was Dredgion and real pvp (high ranks and officer) both those things were really fun to do, there was a challenge, you could win you could lose, no one complained about that.
Complains were mostly about twinks, lvs 30-40 alts who had a lv50 main feeding them stuff, rifting 24/7 and killing lv20s guys for 10ap, no challenge in that...lv20 had no chance to win.
And as soon as they saw a lv50 come help, they logged off since the game didn't send you back to your side. They could log in again 2 hours later and keep on killing lowies.
