    The Goblins are pretty smart fellas. I mean it's thanks to Mutamix that we know how to harness materia. It feels like Eorzea is severely lacking in techonological advancements honestly.

    The Garleans are waaaay ahead of us and so are the Goblins. What have we been doing all this time?

    Technological development is not a one way street, various branches develop independent of eachother. Garleans for example have no caster classes.

    Signifers are thaumaturgs so they definitly have casters, i'm not sure about WHm (don't remeber figthing them) and they definitly lack Arcanists but Thaumaturgh is there.

    When an area gets conquered by the Garlean empire, anyone that can fight is sent to aid in conquering other far-away places. The majority of the garlean attack-forces consist of people from conquered teritories. I'm assuming the signiferi and medici are among those.
