Why shouldn't someone be allowed to watch the cutscenes on first playthrough?

Notice how they did not harass the slower newbie watching the cutscenes via cussing or vote kick. Nor they did they deliberately lock him out of all dungeons to punish him for taking longer to watch cut scenes. People talk and dicussed how they want to proceed. Additionally it is not clear how you determine that there were 5 newbies, they can be alts characters, or alt classes. There is no indicator to show how many are new.

BTW if they did all that with the OP, you think the OP would have even started this thread? Speed runner tried to vote kick the OP for watching cutscenes.

It is the same speed runner that rage quit after the first wipe of T5 on the DF. It doesn't matter if it CM, PRAE, T5, Titan EX or any other dungeon or instance on the DF. Impatience is the root of the problem. If they want to speed run, use the PF. Even then, the PF has those check boxes like slow and easy so that people on the PF are not all assumed to be speed runners, because it only takes a few vote kicks on the DF or PF to ruin it for everyone else.

The can set all the those check boxes they way they like. They don't need to mess with the the peopel in the DF or doing other PFs.

I feel your pain OP. This happened to me on my first toon when I got to that dungeon. They let me watch the cuts, but left me behind since I was a lowly DPS and therefore expendable. The result was I had no idea what half the context was and got totally lost as I had no clue how to catch up to the party. This meant I missed out on all the major battles, and never got to see the final fight at all.

Something that later came back to bite me when I tried running the Ultimate Ballad quest and didn't have even the slightest idea what I was doing. Perhaps it will go better on one of my alts when I get to that point...

To those constantly repeating the mantra of "just go to PF if you want to watch cutscenes"... why? Why should the newbies be forced into the actually extremely lengthy (have YOU ever joined such a party?) process of trying to assemble a group of people willing to run CM/Prae and watch the cutscenes, while if they go into DF the people who are getting a 100 myth bonus ON TOP of the 130 they already get from roulette, specifically because of that newbie being there, apparently should be totally free to harass and bully them into skipping some of the best scenes in the game so these supremely impatient people can save a couple minutes that they're being paid in in-game currency to wait?

Screenshot the jerks' chat log, and report 'em. That's definitely harassment. I will never understand why people get mad at new players wanting to experience cutscenes. If waiting an extra half minute is so difficult for you, then do stuff with a premade party of like-minded individuals. Otherwise, get over it in DF and let people watch stuff.

No, if it's enforced, speed runners will stop running them. Don't speak for everyone, i'll still run them quite happily. I hate speed runs.

I'll just leave this tidbit of knowledge here for you. Before cape west wind was added to the trial roulette, the queue times ranged from 30 minutes to over 2.5 hours. Why? There was no reason to run it again after the first time because no rewards/no point in doing it again. Now use deductive reasoning and apply this to CM and Prae.

That's not in my interest. I'm not waiting for people who don't say "hey im new!" , but instead whine they were left behind for not saying anything to the party. The reward is not to help newbies, it's to keep those dungeons populated so newbies don't have 2 hour Queue times.
