What they showed us in the trailer is what we got. Don't expect more than a CS if you only see a CS.
Armchair dev's. Gotta love'm.
There are plenty of examples where the developers have listened to the player feedback.
When players complained about repair costs siphoning their gil, they were adjusted. When players complained that Ramuh was not worth the effort, they boosted the rings to level 110, turning some of the rings into BiS for certain jobs. When players complained about Garuda and Titan HM both dropping level 70 weapons, they adjusted Titan's weapons to level 80. When players complained about Allagan weapons being same item level as Relic +1, they boosted Allagan weapons to level 95. When players complained that Warriors were not good enough tanks for their strategies for certain duties, Warriors became significantly better at tanking.
I honestly don't think you'll be happy and until they completely redesign the whole entire game based on your whims.
I like the game overall but a lot of things have disappointed me with their implementation.
If they wanted housing to be goal people would need to work towards that should have been clear from the beginning. If server issues prevent them from separating personal and FC housing or having enough plots for everyone at this time we should have been told so before the content was launched.
I don't remember which thread it was but I saw a comparison between the number of personal housing plots available and the number of ex primal mounts collected and how the former was promoted a great deal in spite of being about as rare as the latter. I feel like so much disappointment could have been avoided if housing hadn't been implied to be accessible for everyone only to be implemented in such a way that only a small few will be able to enjoy it.
On the subject of Atmas the existence of worse grinds in other games doesn't make it ok for this grind to exist. Games should be fun, if an element isn't fun it needs to be reworked. I'm optimistic from the Novus and Nexus steps that SE has learned that FATEs should be one option of many and not a mandatory component of certain content.
I'm also of the opinion that many vanity items are too difficult to obtain.
I don't have a problem with everyone being able to dye their AF or collect swimsuits, to me these are things which should be accessible and not status symbols.
Personally sometimes it feels like they're covering a lot of cash shop opportunities and bases for a possible F2P transition whenever that happens, certainly not in the close future, but most WoW clone MMOs like ARR have eventually and inevitably made the transition so you never know. Yoshida himself clarified he isn't against F2P and other monetization options and certainly MMOs don't even have to be F2P to implement a cash shop like WoW and GW2 have proven.I find it really concerning. Rather than enticing people to pay by making the game fun, they made most things since 2.2 a grind to keep people playing, so many features since have been such a disappointment. On top of that, a lot of the things they've implemented have been implemented so poorly they end up annoying more players than it pleases.
Or it could just be a legitimate lack of foresight on their part on a lot of design decisions and a real disconnect with their playerbase, I don't really know what's worse really.

Whenever I think about SE's approach to releasing new content I can't help but feel like a horse on a carrot, except everytime I finally come within reach of the carrot the rider instead feeds me some rancid, rotting eggplant or something and then says "Sorry I couldn't give you that carrot, server limitations and all. You'll get the carrot eventually though, please look forward to it".
Same here! It started back in the 1.xx days for me. Now it feels way worse then 1.0 ever did. I had to cancel my sub because I felt like an idiot being strung along...its really sad what happened and how everything ended up.Whenever I think about SE's approach to releasing new content I can't help but feel like a horse on a carrot, except everytime I finally come within reach of the carrot the rider instead feeds me some rancid, rotting eggplant or something and then says "Sorry I couldn't give you that carrot, server limitations and all. Lol you hit it on the nose. So perfect.Whenever I think about SE's approach to releasing new content I can't help but feel like a horse on a carrot, except everytime I finally come within reach of the carrot the rider instead feeds me some rancid, rotting eggplant or something and then says "Sorry I couldn't give you that carrot, server limitations and all. Why are you all still playing if the game has gone south so hard? I would be gone ASAP if I felt the same way as the responses I've been reading.
Are you guys like MMO masochists or something?
